Zhejiang is a vibrant region, with its vibrant lights on one side and its misty mountains and rivers on the other, all sharing a common gentleness. Each region has its own distinct character, but Southern Zhejiang is my favorite. Anciently encompassing the prefectures of Wenzhou, Taizhou, and Chuzhou, Southern Zhejiang boasts vast plains imbued with the charm of the Jiangnan region. After spending so much time in the city, one inevitably longs for a tranquil haven where one can forget time. Without crossing mountains or rivers, a single thought can transport one to the unfathomable depths of Southern Zhejiang.

China boasts a long history of mining and the mystical art of gold smelting. The Suichang Gold Mine boasts caves dating back to the Tang and Song dynasties, some of the largest caves discovered in China to date. Legend has it that the Tang Dynasty caves yielded high-quality gold, sought after by dignitaries, wealthy merchants, and wealthy individuals throughout history. The Ming Dynasty caves once yielded 100,000 taels of gold, and after the reform and opening up, this region became Zhejiang's primary gold production. Entering the gold mine offers opportunities for exploring the ancient caves, becoming a miner, and experiencing the thrill of panning for gold—a truly "golden journey."

The ancients used the Gold Pool to test for gold. Here, you can experience a real-life gold panning paradise. The area is filled with 99.9% gold particles. Take as much as you can catch!

After experiencing gold panning, take the scenic train through the mines, a unique style perfect for all kinds of photo ops. At night, stay at the Gold Mine Hotel and truly sleep soundly on gold.

Wenzhou's Mother River flows gently through here, with the famous photographic scene "Sails on the Oujiang River" quietly floating on the river's surface. This is a filming location for students from the Academy of Fine Arts and the birthplace of the Barbizon School of Painting in China. It combines art and simplicity.

As its name suggests, "Guyan" (Guyan) is a weir. Tongji Weir, Zhejiang's oldest weir, silently protects the land and water here. Entering the first half of the scenic area, towering camphor trees flourish, each one bearing a message of good wishes. Wenchang Pavilion, a place of sustenance for local scholars, exudes a sense of ancient majesty. Stepping onto the stone paths of the ancient village, listen to the stories of the past; stories are the source of our history.

A boat ride across the Oujiang River brings you to Painting Village, the birthplace of the Barbizon School of Painting in Zhejiang. The Yunhe Rice Terraces, built in the early Tang Dynasty, are located in Chongtou Town, Yunhe County, under the jurisdiction of Lishui City. Legend has it that during the Jingtai reign of the Ming Dynasty, a group of She ethnic minority mountain dwellers from northern Fujian arrived and were drawn to this mountainous landscape characterized by "nine parts mountain, half water, and half farmland." Using primitive tools like hoes and sickles, they reclaimed small plots of land, one by one, to support themselves.

Looking at the rice fields all over the mountains, you can feel the hard work of growing every grain of rice, walk into the country road and disappear into the rice fields.

The largest beach on the continental shelf of my country's southeastern coast, known as the "Hawaii of the East," is known as the "Fog City Beach." Legend has it that thick fog always blanketed the beach every morning, earning it the nickname "Fog City Beach." The wide, flat beach is home to Manila clams, considered the "world's finest delicacy." Due to their pollution-free environment, Manila clams grown here are designated as a seafood import from Japan. Southern Zhejiang's Golden Coast is a vibrant coastal destination.

Enjoy the seaside with your own free time, facing the ocean and amidst a sea of spring blossoms, fulfilling every imaginable ocean experience. Enjoy seafood and find your own patch of sand. As the sun sets, the beach becomes a golden hue, perfect for a stroll.

The Cangnan Wanyao Scenic Area is located in the upper reaches of the scenic Yulong Lake, 20 kilometers away from Cangnan County. Wanyao was formerly known as Jiaotan. It consists of the Wanyao vernacular building complex, Wanyao Museum, handmade porcelain workshop, Yulong Lake, Sanzhe Waterfall, Wanyao Ancient Road and other attractions.

Along the roadside, near the foothills, are several water mills, using water power to pound clay. Across the road is a pottery workshop, its columns covered in large and small clay handprints. Here, a primitive wooden wheel for hand-made bowls is located, with a round hole cut into it for easy hand-pulling. The master craftsman in the workshop quickly kneads the clay while pulling the wheel. We learned the ancient method of making bowls from the master, passing down the ancient craft through time.

Southern Zhejiang is vast and full of fascinating places, and discovering them along the way is always a pleasant surprise. If you have time to explore it, I think you won't be disappointed. The mountains and wilderness are more than just mountains and wilderness; it's difficult to define their nature. Perhaps it's the ingenious fusion of various elements that creates such vibrant colors. This landscape painting is highly recommended.
