Many years ago, You Xiaojun had the experience of hiding in bed and being so scared that he couldn't sleep in the middle of the night. He never thought that history would repeat itself. It was a novel before, and now it is a drama.
That’s right, I’m talking about the hit TV series “The Lost Tomb: The Lost Tomb”, the degree of restoration is too high!

Look at this yellow earth, look at this authentic Beijing dialect, look at this Fishbone Temple! It's exactly as I imagined! (The terrifying female corpse is also very realistic, so if you're interested, go watch the show yourself).

The show received a high score of 8.2 on Douban right after it premiered, receiving rave reviews! The main actors’ acting is excellent, and the production crew is also very dedicated. Besides the high degree of restoration of the costumes and makeup, the filming was also done on location, with many of Shaanxi’s most beautiful scenery appearing in the show.
After watching the whole thing, You Xiaojun felt that it was a large-scale documentary about the scenery of Shaanxi. He couldn't help but want to check it out every minute!

Come on, come on, the filming locations have been found for everyone. Dear fans of the book/drama, let’s meet on May Day!
Li Chunlai, an "honest" farmer from Gulan County, carried an embroidered shoe and used "I have a big box of things like this at home" as bait. Hu Bayi, Wang Fatty and Da Jin Ya decided to go to Shaanxi to collect the treasure, which led to the subsequent story of the Fishbone Temple.

▲Several people on the road to "getting rich"
The car was bumpy all the way on the loess plateau, and the fat man was almost dying of vomiting. Unfortunately, the car's engine also exploded. Everyone had no choice but to get off the car and take a boat to cross the Yellow River.
On the way to the ferry, the camera swept across a place called Mahuangliang.

Mahuangliang Town is located in Yulin City, at the junction of the Mu Us Desert and the Loess Plateau. The ancient Great Wall passes through the town from west to east, dividing it into two landforms, north and south. The south is full of ravines and gullies, while the north is a desert oasis with a variety of customs.

The picture below was probably taken in the south. The main cause of this landform is water erosion. People have given different names based on the shape, such as "Thousand-foot-high Cliffs, High Gorges and Flat Lakes, Blood-stained Hills, Rushing Rivers in Ten Thousand Valleys, Iron Horses and Ice Rivers", etc., which are breathtaking.

After finally killing fish in the river and going through a lot of trouble, the group arrived outside Gulan County. Li Chunlai introduced that the bridge "with the Yellow River under your feet and Shanxi behind you" is the Yellow River Floating Bridge in Ma Town, Shenmu City.

Mazhen Village is located at the foot of Tianbao Mountain in the middle reaches of the Yellow River. It is an ancient ferry terminal with developed shipping, connecting Qin and Jin, and running through Inner Mongolia and Henan. The land is fertile and the products are abundant.
The filming location of Gulan County in the play is in Gaojiabao, Shenmu County, Shaanxi Province. After entering the city, several people went straight to the guesthouse, which was the state-owned hotel in Gaojiabao.

When I took the key and went to the room, I heard the legendary "Huayin Old Tune" being sung on the stage. It was upright, high-pitched, majestic and heroic. It can be said to be the "earliest rock and roll" on the Loess Plateau.

Huayin Laoqiang is an intangible cultural heritage of my country. Tan Weiwei and veteran artists of Huayin Laoqiang once performed a song "A Shout of Huayin Laoqiang" for the audience on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, which attracted great attention.
What's the difference between Huayin Laoqiang and Xintianyou? You could say one is an opera, the other a folk song.
During the day, the scene shifted from the guesthouse to the streets, with big red slogans, 28-inch bicycles, and street food stalls truly restoring the daily life of that era.

Look at the bus with luggage placed on the roof, the old-fashioned shops and supply and marketing cooperatives on the roadside, show them to your parents, they will definitely be familiar.

The houses in the alleys have a unique architectural style of the ancient northern city. The bricks, tiles, wood and stone carvings used are extremely skillful, and the remaining charm is still there today.

All of the above-mentioned shoots were also completed in Gaojiabao.

In Chinese, "bao" (pù) often means a military fortification. Gaojiabao is no exception. It is one of the 36 camp forts on the Ming Great Wall. Historically, the Mongols harassed the Central Plains here many times.
So in addition to the well-preserved scenery of the last century, you can also see the ancient city walls and some ancient buildings.

They thought they were going to make a fortune, but unexpectedly they were set up by honest people. They fought wits and courage with the bullies and got out of the city. They were tired and hungry on the way to escape. Fortunately, an old man kindly took them in. The food the old man served them was the yellow steamed bun, a specialty of Shaanxi.
It is made from fermented millet flour and wrapped with steamed red dates, beans, etc. It has a soft and sweet texture, is nutritious and easy to digest. It was even featured on "A Bite of China"!

The three episodes updated this week are mainly flashbacks, telling the story of Partridge Whistle and Master Liaochen's exploration of the Black Water City of Western Xia for the Zhuchen Pearl.

On their way to Blackwater City, wasn't this the Wave Valley they passed by?
Located in Jingbian County, northern Shaanxi Province, Wave Valley is also known as the "Jingbian Longzhou Danxia Landform." The name "Wave Valley" was actually given by photography enthusiasts because it resembles Wave Valley in Arizona, USA.

The difference is that the Wave Valley in the United States has white lines between the red, alternating red and white, while the Wave Valley in Jingbian is mainly red.

You Xiaojun even suspected that the scene where they entered the Tongtian Giant Buddha Temple in Heishui City was also filmed here.

The Wave Valley is now divided into three areas, each with its own unique ways to explore. You can hike deep into the valley, touch the lines of red sandstone with your own hands, and walk through the narrow gap in the sky, feeling the charm of nature.
You can also jump and pose as you like on the water Danxia. The heart-shaped lake is too romantic. Remember to wear brightly colored clothes, because you have to "wave" in the Wave Valley!

These are probably the filming locations that appear in the drama so far. If fans have more discoveries, please feel free to share them in the comment section!
The Qingshui River Grand Canyon is part of the Mahuangliang Town that appeared above, but it is quite different from the landscape that appears in the drama.

It is about 5.1 kilometers long and 2 kilometers wide at its widest point. It can be seen up close on foot.

Lianhua Tan is located at the intersection of Qin, Jin and Meng provinces, where you can step into three provinces at once.

When Emperor Kangxi was suppressing the Galdan rebellion, he once stopped here and was attracted by the colorful Danxia landform that looked like a lotus, so he named it "Lotus Landform".
Hiking here feels like walking on Mars, so it’s time to take some cool photos!

After seeing the vastness of the Loess Plateau for a long time, you will feel refreshed here.

The Great Wall passes through this gorge, and the Yuli River at the bottom of the valley brings some Jiangnan flavor to the frontier area.

The cliff carvings in Hongshixia are known as the "Forest of Steles on the Frontier". Since ancient times, scholars and poets stationed in Yulin have loved to come to Hongshixia to carve inscriptions. Don't miss the paintings and carvings on the cave ceilings either!

This is also one of the filming locations for the movie "Ashes of Time". Interested fans can look for the filming location. At dusk, the beautiful scenery will surely make you linger.
Tongwan City is the ruins of the capital of the Great Xia Kingdom established by the Southern Xiongnu noble Helian Bobo during the Eastern Jin Dynasty. It has experienced countless vicissitudes of life and still stands in the vast Mu Us Desert.

The construction of this capital was very "brutal". It was made of "bricks" made by mixing glutinous rice and soil and steaming them. It is said that there were human bones inside!

Every brick made by the craftsmen has undergone strict inspection - an iron awl is used to poke into it, and if the awl goes in, the craftsman will die. With such strong bricks, it is no wonder that it has stood the test of more than 1,600 years of wind and rain.

The mysterious Xiongnu, the dusty history, the ancient city hides countless stories. Sunlight shines on the snow-white city walls, and the view towards Inner Mongolia stretches as far as the eye can see, a thousand years in one glance.
Laoniuwan is located at the junction of Shanxi and Inner Mongolia, with the Yellow River as the boundary. To the south is Pianguan County of Shanxi, to the north is Qingshuihe County of Inner Mongolia, and to the west is the Ordos Plateau. It is a place where you can hear the crowing of a rooster in three cities.

The Yellow River enters Shanxi from here, and the Shanxi-Shaanxi-Inner Mongolia Grand Canyon begins here. The vicissitudes of the landform features of my country's Loess Plateau are displayed here, and there is also the magnificent scenery of the rushing river.

Laoniuwan is where the Great Wall shakes hands with the Yellow River and is one of the ten most beautiful canyons in China.

Yucha Grand Canyon is located in Ganquan County, Yan'an, and is known as the "Antelope Valley of China". Currently, there are three canyons open to the public, of which Huashugou is the most scenic.

Walking through it, you feel like you are in the Wizard of Oz. It shows us a wonderful world carved by wind, water and time over millions of years.

Especially when the midday sun shines down, it is like a dream and a paradise for photography enthusiasts.

People always have a very simple impression of the Qin and Jin lands, thinking that it is a vast expanse of loess and has limited interest. But in fact, there are humanities, scenery, history, stories, and delicious food here. It is truly a rare treasure land. Find some time to break the stereotype!
