What we usually call ice is formed by the condensation of liquid water cooled to below 0°C, often with small bubbles inside. The incident light is reflected and refracted to varying degrees, making the final ice appear white.
In polar regions and high altitude areas, the cold climate makes it difficult for snowflakes that fall to the ground to melt. Therefore, when the water and ice are thicker, the longer wavelengths of red and orange light are absorbed, while the shorter wavelengths of blue light are scattered, ultimately making the ice surface appear an enchanting blue.

Due to its unique geographical location and climatic conditions, Sailimu Lake is frozen three feet thick after January. Tourists who come here can enjoy the spectacular blue ice lake. Chagan Lake has a winding shoreline and is the largest inland freshwater lake in Jilin Province.
