This year's May Day travel season was incredibly hot! Product managers worked tirelessly day and night to organize tours and batches, and even train tickets and hotels on many popular routes were sold out during the holiday.
Look at this! This year's May Day is going to be packed early! So, are there any off-the-beaten-path, less crowded places you can recommend? Waiting online, pretty urgent!
Yunnan, a popular destination, is undoubtedly familiar to you, known as "the great hidden in the city, the small hidden in the wild." While its laid-back, comfortable, and slow-paced nature makes it a haven for those who venture there, it also boasts a wealth of hidden gems for hiking, often missed by 99% of those who visit!

Three rivers flow together, snow-capped peaks stand in rows, and the great rivers tear open the mountains and deep valleys with their mighty power. Countless niche hiking spots in Yunnan are born here. Even Lonely Planet has to admit that "Yunnan may be regarded as the best hiking destination in China."

The majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain opens its arms, and the Haba Snow Mountain, known as "the first snow mountain in life", faces it from afar. Tiger Leaping Gorge occupies the center of the snow mountain landscape, and the hidden village of Yubeng and the primitive secret place of Anaguo occupy half of the southwest hiking area in one go!

Tiger Leaping Gorge Hike is one of the top ten classic hiking routes in the world, on par with TMB and ABC!

Not only that, this route has become so popular not only abroad but also in China! In the high mountains and valleys of the Hengduan Mountains, Japanese, Korean, and English are everywhere, and it has been attracting backpackers from all over the world for decades.

Walking through the high mountain valleys with a drop of thousands of meters, gazing at the river rushing down the valley floor is breathtaking. The entire route is located between Haba Snow Mountain and Yulong Snow Mountain, with a total distance of 23 kilometers, which we will complete in two days.

Only on the Tiger Leaping Gorge High Line can you have a chance to truly understand Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which is composed of 13 peaks with an altitude of more than 5,000 meters.

From a distance, it looks like a giant dragon lying across the earth standing on your right. Facing it, you should try to accept your own insignificance and become one with the world.

Without further ado, let me first let you experience the grandeur of the "Balcony That Will Kill You"!
This balcony is located in a legendary inn called HALFWAY. In the more than 30 years since it opened, it has welcomed countless hikers from all over the world.

The guestbook was filled with thank-you letters in various languages, including one from a British BBC host.

Messages and books from BBC hosts▲
We will arrange to stop here to enjoy an afternoon tea specially prepared for tourists.

Drink your coffee while facing the snow-capped mountains. Then you will know that calling it “the balcony will be so cool that it will kill you” is not an exaggeration at all!

By the way, you can also check out their toilet, which is known as the "best toilet in the world".

Why is it called this? Maybe it’s because when you go to the toilet, you can look down at the surging Jinsha River and look up at the Jade Dragon Mountain that pierces the sky. This experience is not available everywhere.

Continue walking from the Midway Inn, and after about half an hour, you will encounter a waterfall falling from the sky, rushing down from the valley, rushing to the bottom of the valley, and passing through it.

There will always be a moment when you feel like you are passing through the Water Curtain Cave. If you have the chance, you must experience this kind of divine waterfall in person. It is really shocking and interesting!

Above the High Line, there are a few families scattered here and there, and each family has some magical little gadgets, such as little pigs wagging their tails.

A little goat that says hi to you.

Aren’t these the Yunnan version of “Pokémon”? If you have a pet ball, you must take them all home!
Following the path from Teacher Zhang's home, we descended to the valley floor, where a massive rock lay in the middle of the river, jutting out from the surging Jinsha River. The immense drop in height combined with the accumulated potential energy of the river caused the water to crash against the rock with a powerful, breathtaking roar.
Cross the small bridge, walk forward and feel the pulse of the Jinsha River. Then, challenge the Warrior Ladder and return to Teacher Zhang's Inn. The Warrior Ladder has a total of 168 steps, hanging vertically along the cliff. There is no turning back once you go up, so feel the thrill of adrenaline rush!

In fact, when most people think of Haba Snow Mountain, their first reaction is "the first snow mountain in life." However, climbing it only allows us to understand the height of the snow mountain. This time, we want to go deep into it and feel the depth of this sacred mountain up close!

There has been a saying circulating on the Internet that Party A said to Party B: "I want the radiant black and the colorful white." I used to think it was just a joke, until I saw Baishuitai!

According to legend, Baishuitai is a deity of the Naxi ethnic group, which was specially created to help the local Naxi people learn how to farm. Looking down from a high vantage point, layers of white jade are neatly stacked between the white ones, dotted with some "Tiffany" blue.

Isn’t this the legendary “colorful white”? No wonder the local Naxi people call this place “the immortal’s land”.
The main peak of Haba Snow Mountain is 5,396 meters above sea level, and the lowest point, Jinsha River Valley, is only 1,550 meters above sea level. Due to the huge difference in altitude, the natural landscape here is rich and diverse.

Unlike the open canyon scenery of Tiger Leaping Gorge, traveling through the secret realm of snow-capped mountains and dense forests is more of an immersive, slow-paced exploration experience.

As we slowly climb in altitude, we will pass by shrubs, streams, alpine pastures, rhododendron forests, and high-altitude coniferous forests. Walking between alpine meadows and under the Haba Snow Mountain, we can try to forget who we are and feel the mountain breeze, the morning mist, and the streams in the valley, trying to blend into this world!

When you mention camping outdoors, does this scene come to your mind: carrying a lot of bags, making your own fire and cooking, not being able to take a shower or brush your teeth, and getting dirty all over. Work is tiring enough, so you might as well give yourself a break during the holidays!

We have explored all the campsites and tents in Haba Snow Mountain, and after repeated communication, we finally chose a campsite with mature experience and the most complete supporting facilities, so that you can have the most comfortable experience!

Dela Ranch Campground faces Haba Snow Mountain, offering a 360-degree panoramic view, immersing us under a thousand stars and above alpine meadows. At night, we gather around a campfire, sipping hot drinks, unwinding from our busy schedules, chatting with friends about the mundane details of life and rediscovering the love and peace we've lost.

How long has it been since you had a proper meal? On this isolated alpine pasture, free from the interference of mobile phone signals, we can truly try to live in the present and savor the food carefully prepared for us by the camp hosts.

A high-quality combination of vegetables, fruits, and protein, and a private cooking method. When you are full, look up at the starry sky and the snow-capped mountains in the distance. Time seems to stand still at this moment. This may be the most special dinner you have ever had!

The campsite is equipped with pyramid or Indian double tents, 1.2 x 2m mattresses and quilts. In addition, electric blankets, hot water for washing, flush toilets, and recreational facilities are all available.

If the tent cannot be accommodated due to bad weather such as strong winds, heavy rain, or severe cold, we will adjust the accommodation to Haba Village Inn. If you do not want to hike to the Dela Ranch Camp on the same day, you can also take the car directly to the camp and move freely around the camp.

Not satisfied? Any other Yunnan outdoor itineraries you'd like to recommend? As the most competitive Yunnan travel agency on the market, of course we do! We truly have it all!
“My first snow mountain”
Everyone dreams of climbing a snowy mountain! Haba Snow Mountain, the only 5,000-meter-high mountain in Yunnan with climbing permission, is also the most accessible entry-level snow mountain. During the May Day holiday, it's only 3,880 yuan! One-to-one collaboration!
High Altitude Ridgeline Trekking
99.99% of people have never heard of this, but in fact, this is our Yunnan's most valuable product. This is a hiking route designed for explorers, and it is also a rare high-altitude, long-distance ridge hiking route in the world.

Here you can find clear and magical lakes, unknown alpine pastures, snow-capped mountains left over from ancient times, alpine rhododendrons all over the mountains, and quicksand slopes that look like the surface of Mars.

Without further ado, this is the long-established king of outdoor routes in Yunnan. Yubeng is a paradise for hikers and is hailed by hikers as "the last paradise on earth". Every year, tens of thousands of believers come from afar to worship here, and those who have been here have never regretted it.

If you're short on time during your vacation, be sure to check out this route! It's been completely revamped for 2023! In addition to the usual Shangri-La IP check-in, we've also selected a 5km Tiger Leaping Gorge Highline Hike, taking you through the dense forest to discover Abujicuo, the emerald gem scattered among the earth.
