Around 11:00, we arrived at the entrance of the Yanwo Ancient Trail. After about half an hour, we reached the starting point, the reservoir, and then, skirting a small Metasequoia forest, ascended along a bluestone path, passing lush bamboo forests along the way. After passing several small villages, we began to descend along the loop trail, a total of about 7km.

Around 2:00 PM, we headed to the shores of Siming Lake. Along the river, we visited the covered bridges and strolled along the plank roads. Along the street, we found persimmons, beef intestines, flatbreads, and sweet potato dates. The lively and diverse stalls were perfect for post-hike refreshments.

We walked towards the Metasequoia forest, where tall red Metasequoia trees stood in clusters. The autumn breeze blew across the lake, creating ripples and gently blowing red feather-like leaves into the air. We enjoyed the food together, strolled around, took photos, and checked in. The warm afternoon sun dispelled some of the coolness from the lake. This scene was a perfect experience of autumn in Jiangnan.

Around 16:30, return to the starting point and board the bus back to Shanghai.

Around 8:00 PM, we returned to downtown Shanghai. Everyone was still reluctant to leave and said goodbye with tears in their eyes!!!

1. What if it rains? We'll decide whether to proceed with the event 2-3 days before the event based on the weather forecast and route conditions. Please stay tuned for our notifications. Most events will proceed as planned even with light rain. Rainy days are still fun. If heavy rain is forecast, we'll notify you that the event will be cancelled and a full refund will be given.

2. Is this route crowded?

Most of our routes are natural and niche, with relatively small traffic. Of course, it also depends on the registration situation for each period. Generally, ordinary models are 37-seat buses, and a few large models are 53-seat. Each car has a certain proportion of tour leaders to ensure the quality of the event.

Siming Lake, known as "Ten miles of misty waters and nine caves of heaven, mountains concealing spiritual beauty and waters harboring immortals," is located in Liangnong, a thousand-year-old cultural town in Yuyao, and within the boundaries of the ninth cave of Siming Mountain. Surrounding the lake are mountains, with 72 peaks interspersed with verdant peaks, both near and far. Throughout history, numerous anecdotes and legends have been left behind by famous figures and sages. Siming Lake is twice the size of West Lake and has a reservoir capacity 13 times that of West Lake. A monument on the lake reads, "Pearl of Eastern Zhejiang."

Yuyao Yanwo Village is located in the northern part of Siming Mountain, with an altitude of about 470 meters. It is composed of four natural villages, namely Zilongmiao, Hongjiaxiang, Shujiashan and Dongwanjie, forming the Yanwo administrative village. Because there is a basin of about 120 square meters between Shujiashan and Zilongmiao villages, which looks like a swallow's nest, it has been called Yanwo since ancient times. It is very well-known in Yuyao, especially the older generation often talks about Yanwo Village. Although it is not far from Yuyao urban area, due to its inferior economic development to other villages and towns, it has retained a relatively unique ancient style, with fresh air, and mountain springs and bamboo forests interspersed from time to time. A small path with historical traces that passes through this village is called the Yanwo Ancient Trail. From the perspective of tourism and hiking, the Yanwo Ancient Trail is worth visiting.
