Hike Longtan Creek Canyon, explore the ancient Longsi Village, camp at Qiaomailing, and visit descendants of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.

Day 1 Shanghai → Changhua

All day

Gather and sign in at 7:00 at the bottom floor of Mingshen Center Building, No. 3131 Kaixuan Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai.

We got on the bus and set off on time at 7:30. Led by the staff, the team members introduced themselves to each other, the team leader performed, and the group interacted with each other. There was laughter and joy all the way, and we were approaching our destination unknowingly.

Arrive at Sanxing Village, Changhua around 11:30, have lunch at a farmer's house, and then rest briefly before starting the hike (if the weather is hot, we will rest at the farmer's house to avoid the high temperatures);

Passing through the village, we were greeted by a vast bamboo forest. After listening to the waves, we followed the tractor-trail upstream to a small reservoir. After a short rest, we continued on our way, arriving at the Qiaomailing Historic Trail, hidden in the mountains.

The ancient trail is lined with lush vegetation, its entrance difficult to spot from a distance. A leisurely stroll along the path, the brook gurgling. At one point, a Brother Rock blocked our path in the canyon. We demonstrated teamwork, helping each other through, creating a delightful and rustic experience. We then encountered the weathered Wan'an Bridge (a stone arch spanning the canyon, its history difficult to ascertain). Crossing the bridge, we passed through terraced fields and arrived at Longmen Temple (formerly home to four temples: Longmen Temple, Guanlao Temple, She Temple, and Wusheng Temple). Close your eyes and listen to the vicissitudes of this ancient temple. The Taiping Rebellion once established an artillery position there to resist the Qing Dynasty. We then followed the ancient trail to the Qiaomailing Reservoir, a small reservoir surrounded by a sparse bamboo forest. We cheered and danced by the reservoir, found our own campsite, pitched our tents, and cooked a meal, sharing the feast.

After the meal, turn on the headlights, dance and watch the stars, it depends on the tourists!

At 22:00, I crawled into bed and gradually fell asleep.

Day 2 Changhua → Shanghai

All day

8:00 AM, time to wake up, lazybones! Take a few deep breaths of the mountain air in the morning!

Breakfast at 8:30, break camp at 9:00 and set off. Continue along the ancient road and go down the mountain along the bamboo forest path. If the weather is good, the rolling mountains in the distance can be clearly seen.

Arrive at the West Zhejiang Grand Canyon around 11:30 and get on the bus to go to a farmer's house for lunch;

Get on the bus back to Shanghai at 14:00; you will arrive in Shanghai around 19:00.

Everyone is still reluctant to leave, kiss goodbye with tears, remember to hand in your homework~~~

Changhua Town: A must-go destination for Huizhou merchants since ancient times, the town boasts numerous ancient trails, the Qiaomailing Ancient Trail being one of the lesser-known. The trail runs from Sanxing Village in Changhua, Lin'an, in the south to the foot of Qiaomailing in the Grand Canyon of Western Zhejiang. In the past, residents of the mountainous areas of northern Changhua (Longjing and Yutiao) would trade their cotton textiles, grain, cotton, and linen along the trail to Changhua for salt and cloth. The trail became a lifeline for both communities. With the opening of the Longdao Highway (Longgang to Daoshi), the trail gradually faded from public consciousness.
