Explore the ancient and secluded areas, walk along the Huzhou Tianzi Ancient Road, cross the bamboo sea, and visit the Tianzi Temple

Day 1 Shanghai → Huzhou → Shanghai

All day

We met at 7:00 AM and signed in at the bottom floor of the Mingshen Center Building, 3131 Kaixuan Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai.
We boarded the bus and departed promptly at 7:30 AM. Guided by our staff, we experienced introductions, team leader performances, and group interactions, all filled with laughter and joy. Before we knew it, we were nearing our destination.
Around 11:00 AM, we arrived at Shandang Village, Huzhou, ready to depart. This circular ancient trail is the longest and most intact ancient trail in Huzhou's Wuxing District. In spring, bamboo shoots sprout, insects chirp, and birds sing, while mountain flowers bloom in vibrant colors. The scenery is breathtaking, with clear waters and beautiful mountains. Entering the ancient bluestone trail, we were met by a gurgling stream and the sound of waves among the bamboo forest. We wandered to Tianzi Mountain, where a temple stands atop the mountain. In ancient times, transportation was difficult, so merchants from thatched villages and Shandang traveled along the route. Tianzi Temple was also a popular destination. At this point, we shared our rations and a delicious meal. Tea fields dotted the mountaintop, where villagers occasionally picked tea and worked in the fertile fields.
We found an open area, unpacked our rations, and had lunch on the ground. Afterward, we ascended the steps to Phantom, where a dense bamboo forest shaded the sun, creating a tranquil and serene scene. We rested briefly at Maowu Village, then continued up the steps, skirting Tianzi Mountain, reaching Ximaoling and finally returning to our starting point, Shandang Village.
We boarded the bus back to Shanghai in time, arriving at our departure point around 7:00 PM. A tearful farewell filled the air, still unfinished.

Note: The route is 8 km long and the hiking time is about 4 hours.

Located in Wuxing District, Huzhou, the Tianzi Ancient Trail connects Maowu Village in Daixi with Shandang Village and Liyang Village. It traverses the Shiyan Mountain, Ximaoling, Gaoshan, and Tianzi Mountain ranges, making it the longest remaining circular ancient trail in Wuxing District. In the past, due to transportation difficulties, mountain dwellers on both sides relied on this trail for travel.
