Dayu Valley - Ganling Lake - Changle Forest Farm, Metasequoia and Red Leaves in One Day

Day 1 Shanghai → Dayu Valley → Ganling Lake → Changle Forest Farm → Shanghai

All day

Everyone gathered at the bottom of the Mingshen Center Building between 7:00 and 7:30 in the morning. The team leader introduced the activities and team members, and played interactive games, which filled the whole journey with laughter and joy.

After about two hours we arrived at Dayu Valley. We first asked the tour girl to come out and take portraits of red maples. Along the way, there were red metasequoia trees and golden rice fields, which were full of the romantic style of the countryside and the scenery was intoxicating.

We had lunch and rested at the farm house at noon. The environment was nice.

Afterward, we walked along a country road to the dam, where a shimmering lake of autumn colors suddenly opened up before us. The reflections of crimson leaves on the lakeside, and Niangniang Mountain towering in the distance, created a breathtaking view! We walked along the path surrounding Ganling Lake, taking photos as we went, until we entered the red foliage area of Changle Forest Farm. The enchanting autumn scenery along the way: golden ginkgo trees, fiery redwoods, vibrant sweetgum trees, and a blanket of autumn leaves, adorning the area like a fairytale.
We photographed until sunset in the evening, then departed for Shanghai. Arriving two hours later, we all shared a tearful goodbye, still reluctant to leave. Remember to return and hand in your homework!

Q: How do I shoot if it rains?

A: The weather conditions for portrait photography are not very demanding. Showers or light rain will not affect the photography as long as you bring a raincoat and a camera rain cover. (Based on the weather forecast from the Central Meteorological Observatory)

West of Hangzhou lies a pristine haven: Dayu Valley. Numerous reservoirs and lakes, shimmering in the valley's emerald waters, add to the valley's beauty. Surrounded by verdant mountains and clear waters, there's no noise except for the chirping of birds, the buzzing of insects, and the crowing of roosters, and there's no trace of pollution. The area is home to numerous historical and cultural attractions, and the ancient folklore of Dayu's flood control deepens the region's significance. Attractions such as Dayu's Flood Control Platform, the Rotten Dock, the Niangniang Temple, and the Immortal Cave add a touch of mystical charm to the scenic area. Niangniang Mountain, the main peak, rises 400 meters above sea level and resembles a miniature Mount Fuji.
In autumn, passing through lush bamboo forests, one enters the core area of Changle Forest Farm. Looking up, one sees breathtaking red maple leaves swaying in the wind, golden ginkgo trees towering over ponds, and straight, germanium-red metasequoia trees marking the long forest path – a breathtaking sight. ...

Changle Forest Farm boasts numerous tall camphor, torreya, maple, and fir trees. In autumn, they transform into vibrant reds, yellows, and greens. Because it's a forest farm, with few houses, the autumn breeze blankets the tree-lined paths with a thick blanket of fallen leaves. Walking through them creates a trance-like experience, reminiscent of a European town in a movie.
