Day 2 Jiujiang → Lushan → Guling Town
All day
After breakfast at the hotel, we'll load our luggage onto a small cart and transport it to our mountaintop hotel. We'll then proceed to the foot of Mount Lushan for a light hike. We'll warm up with our guide and hike along the historic trail, passing the Round Buddha Hall. The hike covers a total of 1,452 meters. We'll visit Lushan's most beautiful canyon, the Immortal Cave, where flowers bloom throughout the year, and the Jinxiu Valley, where you'll find boundless scenery. We'll also visit the Sky Bridge, where a dragon rescues Zhu Yuanzhang, and the Dangerous Peaks, where Mao Zedong's poem, "A Fairy Cave is born, and the scenery is boundless," describes this area. We'll also visit the Flower Path, where Bai Juyi wrote, "The flowers of April fade, and the peach blossoms of the mountain temple begin to bloom." We'll also visit Ruqin Lake, named for its violin-like shape. We'll then reach Guling Town, a bustling town nestled on the mountainside. We'll check in at our hotel on Guling Street and rest for a while. In the afternoon, we'll visit the Nona Pagoda at Xiaotianchi to capture the sunset at Lushan. We'll return to Guling Town for dinner. After dinner in the evening, you can go to Lushan Cinema with your friends to watch "Love on Lushan" and the latest version of the 2010 "Love on Lushan" (the movie with the longest playback times in the Guinness World Record). Single handsome men or beautiful women may have a romantic encounter in Lushan!
Kind tips:
Today's itinerary involves hiking the highlights of Mount Lushan. Please wear outdoor sportswear, hiking boots, and a light backpack. Bring a thermos with hot water and some high-calorie energy foods for consumption during the hike.
Day 3: Guling Town → Wulao Peak → Erfeng Peak → Sandiequan → Lushan East Gate → Jiujiang Railway Station
All day
05:30 Wake up at dawn, wash, pack, and have breakfast at the hotel. Unnecessary luggage is placed on a cart and taken to the meeting point at the foot of the mountain.
06:00 Prepare to take a bus to [Wulao Peak] to watch the sunrise at Lushan Mountain and start today's light hiking.
Arrive at Wulao Peak at 8:30 AM. The ancient poet Tao Yuanming wrote, "I built my hut in a human world, yet there's no noise of carriages and horses." No visitor to Mount Lushan has been complete without visiting San Diequan. Li Bai's poem, "The cascading waterfall plummets three thousand feet, as if the Milky Way descends from the heavens," is a fitting tribute to the San Diequan Waterfall, one of the world's greatest wonders. The hike to San Diequan takes approximately 3-4 hours. In winter, the once cascading San Diequan waterfall is transformed into a shimmering, spectacular icefall.
We arrived at the foot of the mountain at 12:00, took a group photo at the foot of the mountain, and had a simple lunch in Haihui Town.
We dropped off at Lushan and Jiujiang stations at 1:00 PM. We were reluctant to leave and shared tearful goodbyes. We recommend purchasing tickets for trains departing after 3:00 PM.
Note: Today's hike up Wulao Peak has many steps, so you need to prepare knee pads and trekking poles.
