Seeking the Source of Longjing Tea · Wuchao Longwu | Seeking the Sky Mirror in Tea Fields and Hiking the Tofu Skin Ancient Trail

Day 1 Shanghai → Dongwu Village → → Shanghai

07:00

Gather at the designated location on time in the morning and sign in.

07:15

We got on the bus on time and set off. Led by the team leader, the team members introduced themselves to each other, performed as a team leader, interacted as a group, laughed and talked all the way, and before we knew it, we were approaching our destination.

10:30

Because the local village wants to protect the original tea garden atmosphere, the bus cannot drive to the starting point on weekends. You need to walk 1~2km in the village to reach the hiking starting point [Xishan Forest Park], which can be regarded as a deep tea culture.

Then we started the [hiking on the ancient trail], going up the mountain along the trail. The mountains and forests were lush and green, and the air was fresh. It was far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, so we had enough time to enjoy this rare tranquility. We passed the [Jianyuan Pavilion] and arrived at the [Feifengyan Observation Deck]. Rhododendrons were blooming on both sides, and you could overlook the Dayangwu Reservoir. The view here was great, and the water was emerald green. It is a secret place that few people know about.

This is also a section of the [Tofu Skin Ancient Road]. The ancient road has gone through thousands of years. After renovation, more people can understand the hardships of the ancestors of Fuyang Dongwu Mountain. Along this road, they sold baskets of tofu skin to major restaurants and temples in Hangzhou City, and then bought soybeans from there and brought them back.

Then we came to the first reservoir [Dayangwu Reservoir] and took a short rest here.

Continue to set off and enter the second half. On the way, there will be a special angle overlooking Guangming Temple Reservoir. This is a rare camera position!

Emerging from the mountains, the view opens up to a vast expanse of tea plantations, a scene of colors and beauty that is truly captivating! Tea farmers busily harvest tea leaves, creating a scene that resembles blossoming flowers on a green carpet. It's these busy "bees" who create the fragrant tea we savor! Upon reaching the second reservoir, Guangming Temple Reservoir, our tour leader leads us to a rarely seen photo location featured on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book). Here, we can experience a costume change (bring your own clothes), check in at the popular coffee cart (which may not be operating), and relax and enjoy the fresh air.

4:00 PM

The tour leader led everyone to [Weekend Tea Space], which is our final stop. Everyone can rest here freely, buy drinks, refill hot water for free, check in and take photos, wait for the tail end of the group to arrive, or visit the surrounding tea houses.

The rest area that Xiaoxia has chosen for everyone is beautiful in style and very suitable for checking in, taking photos, relaxing and drinking tea!

7:00 PM

We arrived at the starting point and kissed goodbye with tears in our eyes!

Driving time: Shanghai to Longwu 3 hours

Hiking: About 8km of hiking, climbing 650m+, mainly through wild roads and some scenic steps.

1.Why didn’t I receive a text message notification after registering?

2. What if it rains during the event?

2-3 days before the event, we will decide whether the event will proceed as scheduled based on the weather forecast and route conditions. Please pay attention to our notifications. Most activities can proceed as usual even if there is light rain. There is still fun to be had on rainy days. If heavy rain is forecast, the event will be cancelled and a full refund will be given to everyone.

3. Is this route crowded?

Most of our routes are natural and niche, with relatively small traffic. Of course, it also depends on the registration situation for each period. Generally, ordinary models are 37-seat buses, and a few large models are 53-seat. Each car has a certain proportion of tour leaders to ensure the quality of the event.

Wuchaoshan National Forest Park: The forest park features picturesque scenery, bizarre rocks, a pleasant climate, and a tranquil environment. Wuchaoshan, due to its unique topography, has formed a special microclimate environment, which is warm and humid, with distinct four seasons, neither extremely hot in summer nor extremely cold in winter.

[Tofu Skin Ancient Road]: This ancient mountain path connects Dongwushan Village in Shoujiang, Fuyang, and Longwu Village in Hangzhou. With nearly a thousand years of history, the ancestors of Dongwushan carried their homemade tofu skins on their shoulders and hands, crossing Wuchao Mountain on the border between Hangzhou and Fuyang, creating their own "Silk Road." This ancient tofu skin road, built during the Sui and Tang dynasties, facilitated the tofu skin trade between Dongwushan and Hangzhou, and continued to be used as recently as the 1950s. The ancient road, which leads to Hangzhou, was a place where villagers sold tofu skins elsewhere. The road, over 5,000 meters long and about one meter wide, consists of stone steps and slabs. The pavement is well-preserved, and numerous temple ruins remain along the way. Ascending the stone steps, the moss-covered trails speak of its ancient simplicity and the difficulty of its construction.

Longwu Ancient Trail: Spanning over ten kilometers, the trail's highest point is Wuchao Mountain, at 503 meters above sea level, with an average elevation of over 300 meters. Over the years, the ancient trail's remains are now scattered across various locations. Well-preserved sections include a bamboo forest trail near Jinlian Temple on Xiaohe Mountain, the trail from Shima to the foot of Wuchao Mountain, and the tofu skin trail on Dadeling (connecting to Dongwu Village in Fuyang). The core area is Wuchao Mountain National Forest Park. The trail dates back to the Wuyue era and served as a passage for salt merchants. Nearby attractions include the Ruyi Scenic Belt, Bailongtan Waterfall, and Hu Xueyan's Tomb, making it one of the best-preserved ancient trails in Hangzhou.

[Three major reservoirs]: This itinerary will pass through the three major reservoirs of Longweiba Reservoir, Guangmingsi Reservoir, and Dayangwu Reservoir. The water quality is excellent and it is similar to "Little Jiuzhaigou". It is extremely popular on Xiaohongshu. If you find the same camera position, you will definitely get a blockbuster movie.
