Shenxianju Scenic Area: Two north-south cableways, cliff plank roads, and high-altitude cable bridges connect the scenic area, creating a variety of unique zones, including canyon exploration, mountaintop scenery, river tracing, and rare literary exploration.
The area originally housed Xiyan Temple. According to the Guangxu Chronicles: Temples and Monasteries, this was the home of the Song Dynasty Zen Master Xueya. After flourishing as a monastery, Wu Shilai studied there in his youth during the Ming Dynasty. During the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1583), the monk Guangzheng raised funds for its reconstruction. Due to erosion, the temple is now in ruins, and the bells no longer ring. According to statistics, tens of thousands of visitors visit the area annually, earning it numerous accolades such as "Shenxianju" and "Peach Blossom Land." Shenxianju's allure lies in the unique character of each mountain, water, cliff, cave, rock, and peak. In a word, it is "strange." The peaks are unique, the mountains are unique, the rocks are unique, and the cliffs are also unique. Starting from the county seat, winding westward, Dalei Mountain and Kuancang Mountain stretch endlessly. However, south of Baita Town, the mountains surrounding Shenxianju stand out, towering, steep, and distinct. Shenxianju is the world's largest example of volcanic rhyolite landform, boasting a rich and concentrated landscape. Over 100 scenic spots are featured, including Guanyin Rock, the Tathagata Statue, the Welcoming Mountain God, General Rock, Sleeping Beauty, and the Eleven-Shaped Waterfall.
Pantan Ancient Town: After millennia of ups and downs, Pantan still preserves its three-li-long cobblestone-paved, "dragon-shaped" ancient street. Along the street are ancient dwellings from the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, and Republican periods. The magnificent and beautifully laid-out "Three-Tou Nine-Gate Hall" boasts a magnificent academy, the Tongjiang Academy where Zhu Xi sent his son to school, and the needle-stitched boneless lanterns, winners of gold medals at both the China Art Exhibition and the Fourth International Expo. This rich historical and cultural heritage allows you to experience the essence of a millennium of culture.
