Day 1 Enshi Railway Station → Xintian Village → Luyuanping

All day

We will gather at Enshi Railway Station at noon and get on the bus after meeting up with the tour leader. The tour leader will introduce the itinerary of this activity and some precautions. Then it will be the tourists' time. You have to show your style and make yourself the one that everyone will remember. It will take about 2.5 hours to reach Xintian Village and then prepare to enter Luyuanping. Don't be too anxious when walking along the cliff plank road of Butterfly Valley. The view here is just right and you can overlook the entire Luyuanping scenery. It will take about 1.5 hours to reach the bottom of Luyuanping along the plank road. First, go to the farmhouse to put your luggage, and then you can walk around this quiet village. It is surrounded by mountains, and streams run through the village. There are scenery everywhere. Return to the farmhouse for dinner in time. In the evening, chat together, look at the stars in the mountains, and then fall asleep with the chirping of insects in the mountains.

Day 2: Luyuanping → Ground Crack → Luyintan → Four-Tier Waterfall → Xintian Village → Lichuan Ancient Riverbed

All day

After a good breakfast, we'll venture deeper into Luyuanping and revel in its stunning scenery. Following the plank path, we'll descend into a crevice, a unique landscape formed over millennia. A stream flows year-round at the valley floor. Arriving at Luyintan, a silvery waterfall cascades from mid-air into the deep pool, its sound amplified by the canyon. It's a true story, truly heard before seen. Visitors are encouraged to pause for some photos. Then, we'll ascend the cliffside plank path and return to the surface, where we'll find a spot for lunch and a rest. After a satisfying meal, we'll continue our journey, where cascades of waterfalls unfold before us, the uppermost cascade cascading from a cavernous opening in the cliff face. In the afternoon, after packing up, we'll depart and ascend the steps, concluding our Luyuanping tour. We'll then board our bus and transfer to the ancient Lichuan Riverbed for overnight accommodation. Enjoy a treat for the evening before another hike tomorrow!

Day 3 Lichuan → Huangnipo → Ancient Riverbed → Enshi Railway Station

All day

After breakfast, we'll charter a small car and head to the Qingjiang Riverbed for a light hike. Following the winding path, we'll gradually enter the ancient riverbed, pass through the Dalongmen Black Hole, and enter the large lawn. This area has been the setting for many movies, and tourists are posing in various poses. After enjoying the fun, we'll continue our journey to the Second and Third Dragon Gates and enter the ancient riverbed.

Arriving at the ancient riverbed Stonehenge around noon, tourists will have lunch there before hiking the ancient riverbed's Stonehenge, where the folds of the rocks transport us back 100 million years. Climbing and leaping over the riverbed's massive rocks, we'll follow the ancient Qingjiang River bed through the wondrous landscape of Three Caves and Two Days Keng, feeling the powerful force of water. Each of the three dragon gates bears traces of history, witnessing the hardships of modern mountain life. As we pass through the Great Dragon Gate, equipped with lighting equipment, we'll be treated to another breathtaking scene: the canyon's vast lawn, a filming location for films such as "The Assassin" and "Ghost Blows Out the Light." We'll then depart from Love Valley and travel by bus to Enshi Railway Station, arriving around 5:00 PM. This concludes our tour, and we bid farewell. See you next time! 1. Is there a private bathroom in the room at Luyuanping Farmhouse? If not, can I take a shower?

Answer: The Luyuanping farmhouse we are cooperating with now is a fully wooden structure house. There is no independent bathroom in the room, but you can take a shower in a public independent bathroom.

2. What do I need to prepare for hiking on an ancient riverbed?

A: A small backpack (for meals, drinking water, and snacks), hiking shoes or sports shoes (leather shoes and high heels are not allowed), knee pads, trekking poles, and other hiking equipment (optional)

  1. Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, located in southwestern Hubei, is a pristine, mysterious, and beautiful place. Nestled on the beautiful 30th parallel north, nestled deep in the mountains, it boasts abundant outdoor resources and is truly a haven for nature. The folk song "Dragon Boat Tune" originated in Lichuan City, Enshi Prefecture, earning it the nickname "The Hometown of Dragon Boat Tune."

  2. Luyuanping, located upstream of the Mufu section of the Enshi Grand Canyon, is an undeveloped village. Of the original 30 households, only a little over 10 remain. With few visitors, it's a true paradise. Nestled in the Zhongjian River basin, Luyuanping lies deep within the canyon's fissures. From the Qiaowan Pass on the mountain to the Qiaowan Pass at the valley bottom, there's a vertical drop of over 500 meters. The path, carved from the cliffs, descends over 1,000 meters, traversing 42 switchbacks. Beautiful and pristine, Luyuanping boasts a vibrant ecology, precipitous peaks, fascinating legends, and simple folk customs. It embodies a unique blend of uniqueness, danger, ruggedness, beauty, and purity. It's known as the "Shangri-La of Hubei."

  3. The Qingjiang Ancient Riverbed is a relic left behind after the diversion of Enshi's mother river, the Qingjiang River. The ancient riverbed boasts a comprehensive geological structure, a typical karst landscape. Its complex and diverse structure offers breathtaking scenery along the way. Caves, steep cliffs, and collapsed boulders abound, creating a miniature karst landscape. At an altitude of over 1,000 meters, the site features pristine jungle, alpine meadows, thousand-foot cliffs, picturesque river valleys, dry riverbeds, scree slopes, stone formations, and even river tracing and climbing opportunities. This route is a classic outdoor hiking route in mainland China, currently undeveloped and preserving its pristine beauty.
