After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for Libo Xiaoqikong, where tourists will have fun in the afternoon.

Known as the "Emerald of the Earth" and the "Miracle of Karst Landforms," Xiaoqikong Scenic Area is less crowded in autumn, with no long lines. Furthermore, the scenic changes throughout the route, along with its compact layout, create a fairyland-like experience. Tourists with cameras will likely fill up their memory cards.

After visiting Xiaoqikong, we drove to Libo County to check in. We went to Libo Food Street to find some delicious food!

Driving distance: about 240km in a day, estimated time: 3 hours

Day 3 Libo → Zhaoxing Dong Village

All day

Depart from Libo and head to Zhaoxing Dong Village, a village with thousands of households inhabited by the Dong people in Li Congrong.

Drum towers and wind and rain bridges are hallmarks of the Dong village. Five drum towers are located on both sides of a small river. Locals often gather near the towers to enjoy the cool air, sing, play chess, and discuss matters, all embodying a quaint ethnic atmosphere. We'll explore Zhaoxing Dong Village in depth, and those interested can play a game of Baishan Go with the villagers.

China-TravelNote specially organized a long table banquet in Dong Village.

In the evening, you can visit the observation deck and, as the sky gradually darkens, witness the dazzling lights of Zhaoxing's drum towers, creating an unforgettable spectacle. You can also go on your own to enjoy the ethereal sounds of the Dong ethnic group's Grand Song, a truly unique and intangible cultural heritage of both China and humanity. It's a must-hear experience.

Driving distance: about 171km in total, estimated time: 2 hours

Day 4 Zhaoxing → Basha Miao Village → Zhenyuan

All day

After breakfast, we will go to Basha Miao Village, the last gunman tribe in the world.

We will have a wonderful and unique folk activity here: the mighty Basha men dressed in the characteristic costumes of the Black Miao people will play the Lusheng to welcome everyone's arrival; the brightly dressed Basha girls will offer gate-blocking wine in ox horn cups.

In the afternoon, we will leave Basha and go to Zhenyuan Ancient Town, which is known as the Venice of the East.

Zhenyuan, the ancient town of Taiji, is sure to delight you. The Wuyang River, the mother river, flows through the city in an S-shaped pattern, forming a Bagua diagram. This is why Zhenyuan is also known as the Bagua Ancient Town. Composed of three connected streets, the streets are lined with inns, restaurants, and shops. A wide variety of local snacks are also available.

When the lights come on, you can take a night tour of Zhenyuan, known as the "Little Phoenix", which is a unique experience!

Day 5 Zhenyuan Ancient City → Fanjing Mountain → Shiqian County

All day

After breakfast, we will depart for the Fanjing Mountain scenic area, one of the five famous Buddhist mountains in my country.

Fanjing Mountain, one of Guizhou's six landmark scenic spots and a sacred mountain in eastern Guizhou, is a captivating wonderland and natural oxygen bar. Renowned poet Wang Xinjian's poem "Crossing Fanjing Mountain" exemplifies its captivating beauty, offering a tranquil escape from worldly worries. Follow China-TravelNote as we ascend the Red Cloud Golden Summit and admire the Mushroom Rocks. Due to Fanjing Mountain's prime location, with luck, you can even witness vast seas of clouds. It's said that those with a connection to Buddhism can even witness the Buddha's halo at the summit. Here, we'll perform a prayer ceremony and make a wish for 2020. These wishes will be written on a prayer plaque and hung at the foot of Fanjing Mountain's Golden Summit. Hopefully, the wishes made in the pure land of Brahma, the Sky City, will soon be fulfilled!

After the tour, we will proceed to Shiqian Hot Spring Resort Hotel (please bring your own swimsuit). Shiqian Hot Spring, also known as Chengnan Hot Spring, is one of the oldest hot springs in China. Basha Miao Village: Nestled in a mountain valley at an altitude of 550 meters in Congjiang County, Guizhou Province, it is home to over 300 households. Due to its remote location, the village has preserved ancient customs. Their attire reflects the Qin and Han dynasties. Basha men wear their hair in a bun, collarless, right-opening bright cloth robes woven from their own fabrics, and straight, wide-legged bright cloth trousers. They often carry swords on their waists and gunpowder guns on their shoulders, resembling ancient warriors. Women wear homemade bright cloth dresses and silver jewelry. When guests arrive, the majestic Basha men play reed pipes and scalloped bamboo flutes at the village gate, while the Basha women offer them rice wine from ox-horn cups.

Zhaoxing Dong Village: Located in the southeastern part of Liping County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, it covers 180,000 square meters and is home to over 6,000 residents from over 1,000 households. Zhaoxing Dong Village is a key attraction in the Liping Dong Township Scenic Area. The village is inhabited entirely by the Lu surnamed Dong people, divided into five major clans, each living in five natural areas, known locally as "tuan." These are divided into Rentuan, Yituan, Lituan, Zhituan, and Xintuan. Zhaoxing is not only known as the hometown of drum towers, but also as a place of song and dance, with Dong singing troupes and opera troupes resident in the village.

Zhenyuan Ancient Town: A famous town in Zhenyuan County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, it lies on the banks of the Wuyang River, surrounded by mountains. The river winds its way through the city in an "S" shape, with the old prefectural city on the north bank and the old citadel on the south. From a distance, the two fortresses resemble a Tai Chi diagram. Both were built during the Ming Dynasty, and portions of their walls and gates remain. Numerous ancient buildings, traditional dwellings, and historic wharves can be found both inside and outside the city.

Xijiang Miao Village: A place where the Miao people's "original ecological" culture is perfectly preserved. Comprising more than ten naturally built villages nestled against the mountainside, it is currently the largest Miao village in China and perhaps even the world. It offers a place to experience and understand the long history and development of the Miao people. Xijiang's annual Miao New Year Festival, New Year's Festival, and the thirteen-yearly Guzang Festival are renowned worldwide. Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is an open-air museum, showcasing the epic story of the Miao people's development and serving as a grandstand for appreciating and studying their traditional culture. Xijiang is also home to a renowned silversmith village, where Miao silver jewelry is entirely handmade, demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship.
