One-day fun on Hainan Boundary Island

Day 1 Hotel → Fenjiezhou Island → Shimei Bay → Sanya Airport/Downtown/Hotel

All day

After breakfast at 8:30, depart for Fenjiezhou Island

Once you arrive at the pier, you'll need to transfer to a cruise ship to land on this beautiful, isolated island floating in the South China Sea. The waters here range from transparent to turquoise to blue, and the sandy beach is soft and white. Stroll along, where the sea and sky merge into one, explore the island, and take in the panoramic seascape. This island has been spared from overdevelopment, preserving its pristine natural beauty. The pristine waters make it a prime spot for diving and viewing marine life. Besides its abundant natural resources, there are also exciting water activities: sea fishing, motorboats, parasailing, and more—enough to keep you entertained for the better part of a day.

Gather in time in the afternoon and head to Shimei Bay

Surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea on one side, it comprises two crescent-shaped bays, a six-kilometer-long turquoise beach embraced by gently sloping hillsides covered in lush vegetation. Due to its relatively low profile, this stretch of beach is relatively quiet, perfect for a quiet moment of reverie. Hidden away here is the Hainan bookstore, Phoenix Jiuli Bookstore, also located near the sea. Fronting the bookstore are the vast expanse of Shimei Bay, while behind, a lush, thousand-year-old vineyard stands. Sitting in the bookstore, you can quietly return to your reading life, enjoying the beautiful mountain and sea views and listening to the roar of the waves—a common sight here. Enjoying a book here, feeling the sea breeze is truly satisfying. For those with a literary flair and a love of life, this is a must-see.

Towards evening (around 17:30), we reluctantly left the literary bookstore. Depending on the tourists' itinerary, we could be sent to the airport/Sanya city/hotel.

Driving distance: Sanya City - Fenjiezhou Island - Shimei Bay 110km, about 1.5 hours

Note: Lunch: You can bring your own dry food or eat Hainanese food at the restaurant on the island

Boundary Island: Located northeast of Lingshui County, Hainan Province, this national AAAAA-level scenic spot boasts clear waters with visibility of 5 to 10 meters. From shore, the waters can be divided into three distinct layers: turquoise, emerald green, and deep blue, making it a popular diving destination. This is the boundary ridge between Wanning City and Lingshui County, and the boundary marker between the two counties stands on this ridge, hence the name Boundary Island.

Shimei Bay: Many people were previously unaware of Wanning's Shimei Bay, but after seeing its stunning scenery in the movie "If You Are the One 2," they were captivated. The Shimei Bay Tourist Resort has been hailed by World Tourism Organization experts as Hainan's most beautiful, undeveloped bay.

Phoenix Jiuli Bookstore: Nestled in the picturesque Shimei Bay of Wanning, lies a small but renowned bookstore. As the first of Xinhua Bookstore's Maritime Silk Road Book Fragrance Projects, Phoenix Jiuli Bookstore has flourished in Shimei Bay. Just a stone's throw from the sea, visitors from home and abroad can not only experience the beauty of Hainan's beaches and sunshine, but also enjoy the fragrance of books and the cultural charm of this international tourist island.
