Today, tourists from all over the country will travel to Guilin Liangjiang International Airport according to their own transportation methods. Upon arrival, a 24-hour free pick-up service will be provided by a dedicated car, and then they will be driven to the hotel to check in and rest. Guilin, located at the southern end of the Xiangxi Corridor, has long enjoyed the reputation of "the most beautiful landscapes in the world," renowned for its scenery, people, customs, and leisurely lifestyle. Today, we'll depart from Guilin and drive north to the Longji Rice Terraces. We'll first visit Ping'an Zhuang Village to experience Zhuang culture. A Zhuang woman will guide you through authentic Zhuang customs, including making bamboo rice and making oil tea. A special family feast will also be prepared, featuring sweet mountain bamboo shoots, free-range chicken soup, wild mushrooms, and organic mountain vegetables (items may vary depending on the day). This is undoubtedly a delightful and local experience.
丨Terrace hiking / Feel the harmony between heaven, earth and people
With forests on the mountaintop, villages built on the mountainside, and terraced fields at the foot and edge of the village, the Longji Rice Terraces are an important agricultural cultural heritage site in China and a culmination of the wisdom of agricultural civilization. After lunch at a Zhuang family's home, we'll lead you down the ridges for a light hike (1-1.5 hours). Take in the iconic views of Ping'an Village, including the Seven Stars and the Moon and the Nine Dragons and Five Tigers (during flooding season), and learn how the locals skillfully manage their relationship with nature during the long process of farming. Don't miss the opportunity to chat with the local farmers!
Tips
Terraced fields are the product of human labor, wisdom, and strength. Longji Rice Terraces, recognized as one of China's three largest terraced fields, were first constructed during the Yuan Dynasty, boasting a history of over 650 years. Distributed primarily at altitudes between 300 and 1,100 meters, they wind layer upon layer from the mountain's base to the summit, creating a picturesque scene of flowing clouds and water. Recommended viewing areas include the Jinkeng Dazhai Yao Rice Terraces and the Ping'an Zhuang Rice Terraces, both of which are world-class in scale, scope, and beauty.

After afternoon tea at the hotel, we'll depart for Xingping Ancient Town around 4:30 PM. We'll board the local ferry, a common means of transportation, to reach the town. Here, the Yangshuo Li River winds sharply, leaving behind a winding bay. Walk along the weathered bluestone slabs, savor crispy pine flower candy, visit an ancient Qing Dynasty stage, and explore the remains of history and culture. Head to the Huangbu Reflection Observation Deck to capture the backdrop of your 20-yuan RMB note, where you'll see boats sailing on the azure waters, like people swimming in a painting. Climb to the summit of Laozhai Mountain for a breathtaking view of the stunning landscape at sunset.
Tips
The Clothes Drying Festival, held annually on the sixth day of the sixth lunar month, is a traditional festival held by the Longji Red Yao people, besides the Spring Festival. On that day, the village is bustling with guests. Married daughters and sons who have married into other villages return to their husband's family, carrying ducks, wine, and gifts, and carrying their children on their backs, for a reunion dinner. Every household makes rice dumplings (zongzi) to celebrate the festival.
