13:00

After the meal, we went to the heart of Qinglongwan Reservoir in Fangtang Township. When the ocean of redwood forest came into view, one beautiful scene after another appeared, and a Ningguo painting slowly unfolded, I realized that any beautiful words would be redundant.

Towering mountains in the distance, surrounded by white water, echo the golden-red cascades of nearby fir trees, creating a unique, oil-painted wetland park. We can choose to hike along the vibrant, fairytale-like riverbanks or raft through the thousand-acre metasequoia forest (bamboo rafting is optional). Following the shallow bay stream, weave through the redwood forest. Over 2,000 acres of densely planted redwoods nestle in the water, creating a contrasting backdrop against the vast, emerald waters like a natural tent. Sunlight shimmers through the leaves, creating a harmonious blend of human and nature. The autumn scenery is captivating, yet without the usual tour groups, it's truly a unique and private experience.

As autumn deepens, the redwood forest gradually turns red, light red, dark red, and golden red. The various colors intertwine with each other and are reflected in the clear water, which is incredibly beautiful, just like the scenery of Kanas in northern Xinjiang.

3:30 PM

We took a car to start our journey back home. The scenery along the way was still beautiful and boundless. Houses with white walls and black tiles were hidden in the mountains, like a beautiful ink painting.

7:30 PM

Returned to Nanjing and disbanded.

Driving time: about 4 hours

The redwood forest in Fangtang Township lies in the heart of the Qinglongwan Reservoir. Along the shallow bay stream, over 2,000 mu (approximately 1,000 hectares) of redwoods grow densely and neatly in the water, creating a breathtaking backdrop against the vast, emerald green waters. As winter deepens, the redwoods gradually transform into shades of red, then light red, deep red, and finally golden red. These interwoven colors, reflected in the crystal-clear waters, create an incredible beauty, reminiscent of the Kanas scenery of northern Xinjiang.
