Around 10:30, we arrived near Huashan Village, got off the bus and lined up to go up the mountain. After warming up, we were ready to set off!

Huagai Mountain is located in Huashan Village, Simingshan Town, Yuyao. We cut the slope and jumped onto the fire road. This is the most exciting fire road loop in the outdoor community in Ningbo. It is also known as the first self-torture road in Yuyao. The climb is 894 meters, with an ups and downs of about 60-70 degrees. Everyone continued to climb slowly.

After reaching the summit at 899 meters, looking around, Ningbo's highest peak, Qinghuwangang, and Fenghua's highest peak, Huangnijianggang, are clearly visible. Since peaks higher than Huagai Mountain are several kilometers away, climbing this peak offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. Atop Huagai Mountain stands a blockhouse sentry post built in the 1960s, a former watchtower. This route not only includes ancient trails and firebreaks, but also a short section of off-road trails and rock climbing, combining intensity, difficulty, fun, and tranquility.

A closing time will be set at the junction of Cross Pants and Huagai Mountain.)

Since most of the trail is along firebreaks, the ground feels incredibly soft, often covered in pine needles, a golden blanket of grass, or moss, a green carpet. Stepping on it feels soft and springy, naturally relaxing. The steep slopes are also mostly muddy, and descents require sideways descents, either by sliding, slithering, or running—each method has its own way to reach the valley floor. As the team passes by, the slopes look like plowed fields.

17:30-18:00, arrive at the foot of the mountain, stretch and rest, then get on the bus for the return trip

We arrived in Shanghai around 20:30. We were reluctant to leave and agreed to come back next time.

Hiking: 10+8km of high-intensity hiking, some of which require using both hands and feet to descend and ascend, with a maximum altitude of 895m and a total ascent of 597m

2-3 days before the event, we will decide whether the event will proceed as scheduled based on the weather forecast and route conditions. Please pay attention to our notifications. Most activities can proceed as usual even if there is light rain. There is still fun to be had on rainy days. If heavy rain is forecast, the event will be cancelled and a full refund will be given to everyone.

3. Is this route crowded?

Most of our routes are natural and niche, with relatively small traffic. Of course, it also depends on the registration situation for each period. Generally, ordinary models are 37-seat buses, and a few large models are 53-seat. Each car has a certain proportion of tour leaders to ensure the quality of the event.

Huagai Mountain is one of the four highest peaks of the Siming Mountains in Ningbo. Because reaching the summit requires passing through a firebreak, it has become a key route for outdoor team physical training. According to dictionaries, "Huagai" means "the umbrella-shaped shelter on the chariots of ancient emperors." Huagai Mountain, with its summit shaped like a large canopy, is known as "the mountain where stalagmites bloom, and cow dung for breakfast; on the summit of Kong'ao Mountain, cow dung for steamed buns." A map reveals that the Huagai Mountain referred to in this folk song is located in Huagaishan Village, Yuyao City, near the popular Qiu'ao Glass Road, at an altitude of just over 400 meters. The actual Huagai Mountain is located near Huashan Village in Yuyao City. Ascending from Huashan Village, the first sights you reach are the two bunkers on the summit, but these are not the highest point of Huagai Mountain, which is located at the Iron Tower at an altitude of 899 meters. Huagai Mountain and Huagaishan Village are distinct, approximately 40 kilometers apart. Without further investigation, one might mistake them for the same location.
