Hike the Sunjialing Ancient Trail to Wubaigang and stroll along the green mountaintops

Day 1 Hangzhou → Shaoxing → Sunjialing → Shaoxing → Hangzhou

07:00

Meet and sign in at Huanglong Seafood Stall in the morning

07:30

On the way to departure, the team leader introduced the team members to each other and they laughed and chatted all the way.

09:30

We arrived at Sunao Village, the starting point for the hike. Our leader led a warm-up to stretch our muscles. After about ten minutes of hiking, we came upon a towering ancient maple tree, its trunk so large that four or five people could hug it. As we continued along, we watched the white clouds drift by, their ever-changing forms. In the distance, the Five Hundred Hills stretched out, their forests ablaze with color. Nearby, lush green pines and numerous unusually shaped rocks abounded, forming a breathtakingly beautiful canvas.

12:00

Arriving at the mountain village, we rest and have lunch here

13:00

We continued our journey and after a 10-minute hike we arrived at the highlight of the day, Dajianshan grassland. Circular tea fields surrounded the central reservoir. Beside the reservoir, Dajianshan stood alone with no trees on the mountain. Meadows covered the entire hilltop. Looking down from a high vantage point, we could see continuous peaks and ridges, and tea mountains in patches. The two reservoirs between the valleys were like two pearls, and there were scattered villages. The scenery gifted by nature was breathtaking.

4:00 PM

After successfully completing the entire hiking loop and returning to the starting point, everyone took a bus back to Hangzhou.

6:00 PM

Back at the starting point in Hangzhou, everyone was reluctant to leave and kissed goodbye with tears in their eyes.

Driving time: about 2 hours

Hiking: The entire route is about 12 kilometers long, with a total ascent of about 600 meters.

Note: Pay attention to sun protection in summer

Dajian Mountain, also known as Dajian Mountain, is located in the heart of Wubaigang and serves as the boundary between Shaoxing's Keqiao District and Shengzhou City. The mountain is treeless, covered only with grass, green in spring and yellow in autumn. In November, the meadows, from deep in the mountains, give the area a distinctly Wugong Mountain feel.
