Mountain and Sea Adventures | Chasing Dongshan Island & Nanjing Tulou World Heritage Site - 3-Day Tour

Day 1 All over the country → or → Zhangzhou ★ Gathering day

All day

1. Today is the gathering day for the event. Please proceed to Zhangzhou to check in. Upon arrival at the designated hotel, please provide "China-Travel Note + Name" to check in.

2. Free time on the day. Recommended itinerary: Explore and eat in Zhangzhou Ancient City: Must-try Zhangzhou braised noodles, fried triangle rice cakes, and Pien Tze Huang vegetable and fruit juice. Walk along Yan'an South Road and Taiwan Road to digest your food, reminisce about the old city, and explore the smallest temple in the sky, the Jialan Hall. Stroll through the park and experience the magical combination of tofu pudding and vermicelli.

Driving distance: None

Day 2 Zhangzhou → Dongshan Island → Nanmen Bay → Jinluan Bay → Hotel

All day

1. Arrive at Dongshan Island around 11:00 AM. First stop: Double-Sided Sea. A small, isolated island, Nanyu, emerges from the ocean. At low tide, a sandy beach "channel" appears, but at high tide, the channel disappears, leaving the ocean. The green lighthouse here was the filming location for the movie "Your Wedding."

2. At noon, stroll along the ancient Ming and Qing streets [Ding Street] by the sea to explore the snacks in the corners and check in at a nearby hotel

3. Around 3:00 PM, we arrived at Nanmen Bay, the filming location of "The Left Ear." Here, you'll find colorful houses, long embankments, and a long beach.

4. Around 5:00 PM, we arrived at Jinluan Bay, the core attraction of Dongshan Island. Here, you'll find the "Sky Mirror" comparable to Bolivia's. The sea and sky blend into one, and on clear evenings, the sunset glow is stunning. Even on cloudy days, you can still capture some truly captivating moments.

5. You can move freely at night. It is highly recommended to go to Tongling Town to find delicious seafood!

Due to the influence of tides, the order of some attractions listed in the itinerary may be adjusted. The specific order will be based on the day of travel.

Driving distance: about 180km

Note: The double-sided sea can only be seen at low tide. If the tide is not suitable, the tour leader will adjust the itinerary appropriately.

Day 3 Fishbone Sandbar → Sufeng Mountain → Nanjing Tulou B&B

All day

Due to the influence of tides, the order of some attractions listed in the itinerary may be adjusted. The specific order will be based on the day of travel.

In the morning, we'll visit the hidden gem, Fishbone Sandbar (approximately 40 minutes). This magical spot, submerged with the tide and emerging with the ebb and flow, is a magical place. At low tide, you can collect shells on the sandbar as the clear water surges up from both sides, giving you the thrill of being surrounded by the ocean. At high tide, the water reaches your ankles, and walking on the waves feels like floating in the water.

2. Afterwards, you will take a boat to the offshore fishing raft base under the captain's guidance to experience sea fishing. Along the way, you will visit the offshore fishing rafts, cast nets to catch fish, collect the nets and then collect the crab cages. You can also experience sea fishing on the rafts, feed the fish, and have fun with pufferfish.

3. In the afternoon, head to Sufeng Mountain, home to a stunning circular road. This azure road winds along sheer cliffs, with emerald green hills on one side and the azure ocean on the other. Cycling here will make you feel like you're in Kenting, Taiwan. If time permits, your tour guide will also take you to the deserted Yanya Village, where you can laze on the deserted beach.

4. Reluctantly leave the island and head to another major IP in Zhangzhou, the Nanjing Tulou Cluster (about a 2-hour drive). Stay in a Tulou B&B similar to the one in Big Fish and Begonia. When the red lanterns hanging on the corners of the buildings light up one after another, light the fairy wand in your hand and set off small fireworks.

PS: Tulou New Year's Eve Fireworks Show during New Year's Day

Driving distance: about 200km

Note: 1. The actual itinerary order may be adjusted based on the situation on the day without deleting any attractions.
2. If you do not want to experience cycling, Sufeng Mountain will be replaced by a scenic shuttle bus (the ticket cost is the same as riding an electric bike)

4th Tianhekeng Tulou → Xiamen North Railway Station/Xiamen Airport

All day

1. This morning, we'll visit Nanjing Tulou. We've chosen the Hekeng Tulou Cluster from among the many Tulou clusters. Not only are the buildings here densely packed, but 13 of the 14 Hekeng Tulou are listed as World Cultural Heritage sites: the Shengqing Tower, with its unique "house within a building," the Chaoshui Tower, which has stood for 600 years without a foundation, and the Nanxun Tower, with its inverted corners that can never be opened. Our tour guide will also show you the Double Big Dipper Tulou Array from a unique perspective.

2. Join the locals in catching river fish to add flavor to your mountain lunch (due to the cooler water in winter, fishing from December to March is replaced by teaching Hakka dragon and lion dances by intangible cultural heritage inheritors); personally draw a small earth building as a souvenir of this trip

3. Return to Xiamen in the afternoon (approximately 2 hours' drive): We recommend that tourists purchase train tickets (Xiamen North Station) departing after 16:00 or flights departing after 16:40 (for reference only). Tourists who wish to continue their stay in Xiamen can enjoy their leisure time or take the China-TravelNote Xiamen City Walk.

Driving distance: about 150km

Notes: 1. During the Spring Festival, the "Moyu" activity will be replaced by: Intangible Cultural Heritage inheritors teaching Hakka dragon and Hakka lion dances - in line with the festival.
2. The return trip to Xiamen will depart at approximately 13:30 (approximately a 2-hour drive). The default stops are Xiamen North Station and Gaoqi Airport. If the return train/ticket is earlier than the suggested time, the group must agree to arrange the day's itinerary and return trip earlier.

Dongshan Island

Dongshan Island is the second largest island in Fujian Province. Its shape, seen from an aerial perspective, resembles a butterfly, earning it the nickname "Butterfly Island." It was also the filming location for the film "Left Ear," and every corner offers a unique landscape.

Nanjing Tulou

Avoid the popular Tianluokeng Yunshuiyao and visit the lesser-known Hekeng Tulou Group. Thirteen of the 14 Tulou here are listed as World Cultural Heritage, with a unique double Big Dipper formation layout.
