【Hanguang Gate Ruins Museum】

If you want to see the authentic Tang Dynasty imperial city wall, this is a must-see. At the Tang Dynasty Imperial City Hanguang Gate Ruins Museum, we'll explore the wall's age-old traces on its cross-sections, exploring its evolution over the millennia of the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. Within the gate ruins, we'll delve into the mysteries of the Tang Dynasty's spanning beam gates and learn about the vicissitudes of this once-grand gate. You can also see a section of Chang'an's underground pipe network, a network of open and concealed channels that formed a system of underground water circulation that was even more sophisticated than some current cities' groundwater systems.

Key highlights: The fifth phase of the city wall, the ruins of the Hanguang Gate, and the ruins of the Sui and Tang Dynasty water culvert.

【Walking on the city wall】

We climbed the city wall and explored the secrets hidden beneath its thick bricks. Walking along 600-year-old bricks, have you ever wondered what makes the wall so rock-solid? How many bricks were needed to build such a magnificent wall? Let's measure the bricks and see if we can uncover the coded text left on them by the ancients. Gazing inside and outside the walls, we can immerse ourselves in the transformations of time and space. What kind of energy has the ancient city wall contributed to the modern city?

Key highlights: Military defense facilities of the city wall - parapets, battlements, battlements, watchtowers, corner platforms, ramparts, bridleways, drawbridges...

Yongning Gate, the south gate of the city wall

We'll walk along the city wall to the Yongning Gate Tower, the main gate of the Xi'an City Wall and the longest-standing gate in use. Its imposing presence fully demonstrates the wall's five-pronged defense system, allowing us to explore how the wall protected the city. You might also encounter a warrior in golden armor here, and if you're brave enough, you might even get a photo with him.

ps: This is also the filming location of the TV series "One Life, One World". Shi Yi fell here. You may want to take a photo like the one in the TV series.

Key highlights: Five-in-one defense system consisting of city tower, urn, arrow tower, gatehouse, and drawbridge; encounter with golden-armored warriors; filming location of "One Life, One World"
