【Xitian Scenic Area】
The Xitian Scenic Area of Putuo Mountain mainly includes tourist attractions such as the thousand-year-old camphor tree, Xitian Gate, Bodhidharma Wind, Heart-shaped Stone, Meifu Temple, and Pantuo Stone.
Heart-Character Stone: Southwest of Xitianmen, there lies a massive stone, approximately 300 meters wide, perfectly rounded and smooth. In the center, a massive "heart" character is carved, measuring 5 to 7 meters high. The center of the character can accommodate eight or nine people, and the entire character can accommodate a hundred people meditating. This is the largest stone inscription on Mount Putuo. While the exact year and handwriting of this character are unknown, it appears to have existed before the Qing Dynasty. Buddhism prioritizes cultivating the mind, and while people today no longer understand the character "heart" in this sense, many young men and women visiting this site enjoy circling it or taking photos in its center as a symbol of love and friendship.
【Puji Temple】
Visit Puji Temple (approximately 50 minutes), commonly known as the Front Temple, located at the southern foot of Lingjiu Peak on Baihuading, Putuo Mountain, in Putuo District, Zhoushan City. Founded in 916 AD during the second year of the Zhenming reign of the Later Liang Dynasty, it was repeatedly rebuilt and destroyed. In 1689, during his southern tour, Emperor Kangxi issued an imperial decree to rebuild the temple, later bestowing the inscription "Puji Qunling." In front of Puji Temple, a scenic spot, lies a 15-acre lotus pond known as the Haiyin Pond, also known as the Release Pond. Built during the Ming Dynasty, it features three bridges. The central bridge, with its flat, wide surface, connects to the main gate of Puji Temple in the north and the Imperial Stele Pavilion in the south. A pavilion nestled in the middle of the bridge, also known as the Octagonal Pavilion, faces the temple's mountain gate. Surrounding the temple are jade-like water and encircled by pink walls. (Note: A 5-yuan incense and flower voucher is provided at your own expense.)
【Farmhouse Stay】
After the tour, we will go to Putuo Farmhouse for accommodation.
Remark:
1. Due to the huge number of visitors to Putuo Mountain Scenic Area all year round, the tour guide will adjust the order of the itinerary without reducing the number of attractions or the tour time. Please be aware of this and understand.
2. If you need to walk for a long time on Putuoshan Island and it is inconvenient to carry a suitcase with you, the scenic area provides a luggage consignment service directly to the hotel. Small luggage costs 10 yuan per piece, and large luggage costs 20 yuan per piece. The cost is at your own expense (the specific price is subject to the scenic area charges).

2nd Tianzhoushan → Hangzhou
All day
After gathering in the morning, continue to visit Putuo.
【Guanyin】Performance (The performance is a free item and the fee will not be refunded if the theater is closed)
The Putuoshan Theater is hosting the grand Buddhist festival "Avalokitesvara." Yue Opera artist Wang Zhiping serves as artistic director and producer, and renowned director Duan Jianping, known for directing large-scale panoramic song and dance performances such as the Songcheng Eternal Love, serves as general director. The performance, themed on Guanyin Bodhisattva, features recitations of scriptures like the Heart Sutra and the Great Compassion Mantra. The multi-faceted performance, employing high-tech techniques to create a glimpse into the Buddhist world of the sea and sky, blends the three symphonies of perception, participation, and enjoyment. (The viewing duration is 50 minutes. This program is complimentary and will not be refunded if the theater is closed.)
【Fayu Zen Temple】
Fayu Temple: Visit the second-largest temple on Putuo Mountain, Fayu Temple (approximately 50 minutes), also known as the Back Temple. Located to the left of Baihua Peak and at the foot of Guangxi Peak on Putuo Mountain in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, 2.8 kilometers from Puji Temple, it is one of Putuo's three major temples. Spanning 33,408 square meters, Fayu Temple boasts 294 existing halls, arranged on a six-tiered platform nestled in the mountainside. Entering through the main gate, the temple ascends in steps, with the Heavenly King Hall on the central axis, followed by the Jade Buddha Hall. Between the two halls stands the Bell and Drum Tower, followed by the Guanyin Hall, the Imperial Stele Hall, the Main Hall, the Sutra Library, and the Abbot's Hall.
Visit the Guanyin Hall, also known as the Nine Dragon Hall, and admire the Putuo Nine Dragons 3D caisson, one of the only three remaining nine-dragon steles in China. The carvings are exquisite and vivid. The nine-dragon caisson and some glazed tiles were relocated from the Ming Palace in Nanjing and are considered one of Putuo Mountain's three treasures. The entire temple is majestic and lofty, exuding a transcendent aura. Nearby, the Thousand Steps Golden Sands offer a vast expanse of space, while the sound of the ocean roars day and night. Wang Anshi of the Northern Song Dynasty praised the site, saying, "Autumn trees evoke a book, and the sound of bells echoes across the waves."
Purple Bamboo Forest
The Purple Bamboo Forest (approximately 30 minutes) is a scenic spot located at the foot of Meitan Ridge in the southeastern part of Putuo Mountain in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. The purple-red rocks within the mountain, with patterns resembling cypress and bamboo leaves visible upon cross-section, are known as Purple Bamboo Stone. Later generations planted purple bamboo there, earning the name. Key attractions include the "Bukenqu Guanyin Temple," Chaoyin Cave, the Purple Bamboo Forest, and Guangming Pond. Guanyin Tower stands to the south, and Luojiashan Island can be seen across the shore. Visit the monumental Nanhai Open-Air Guanyin Buddha Scenic Area and the Nanhai Guanyin Standing Statue. The Putuoshan Nanhai Guanyin Standing Statue stands 33 meters tall, with a 13-meter-high base, an 18-meter-high bronze statue, and a 2-meter-high lotus pedestal. It weighs over 70 tons. Constructed by the Henan Luoyang Copper Processing Factory, the statue is essentially the image of the floating sea Guanyin, depicting compassion, tranquility, and majestic presence. The statue is precision-cast from imitation gold-copper, composed of 96 copper panels, with 6,500 grams of gold incorporated into the Buddha's face. The statue of Guanyin of the South China Sea stands on the Shoulongwan Hill on Xinluo Reef, where Huie once refused to leave. Construction began in 1996, but despite its relatively short history, the statue has become a new landmark of Putuo Mountain and a visible expression of Guanyin belief.
Note: Due to the huge number of visitors to Putuo Mountain Scenic Area all year round, the tour guide will adjust the order of the itinerary without reducing the number of attractions or tour time. Please be aware and understand.
