Q: Is it safe to travel to Xinjiang?

A: This may be the most concerning issue for people traveling to Xinjiang. China-TravelNote responsibly tells you: Xinjiang travel is very safe.

First, our routes primarily cover the Altai Mountains in northern Xinjiang, serving Han, Kazakh, and Mongolian ethnic groups. Occasional terrorist activities primarily occur in remote, underdeveloped, and impoverished towns and villages in southern Xinjiang, which our routes do not cover.

Second, these incidents were perpetrated by a very small number of people who were instigated and influenced by foreign forces. They had political aspirations. People of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, including the Uyghurs, deeply detest terrorists, including those in southern Xinjiang. Many Uyghur people we met along the way were very friendly, and their kindness and simplicity deeply touched us.

Third, the government has also increased patrols and controls. Our team leaders and drivers are very familiar with the local area and will inform everyone of precautions before traveling.

China-TravelNote advocates responsible travel. If it is really unsafe, we would not dare to let everyone go.
