Day 1 Nanjing → Shou County Ancient City → Chu Culture Museum → Nanjing

07:45

From 07:45 to 08:00, we gathered and signed in at Exit 1 of Andemen Station on Nanjing Metro Line 1, where we saw the yellow China-TravelNote flag.

11:30

Arrive at Shouxian Ancient City and enjoy some free time to eat (we recommend the special tofu feast, which you can split the bill. Of course, the various snacks are also worth trying).
After enjoying the food, you can freely check in at Shouxian Ancient City. We will give you plenty of time to explore the ancient city. Climb the South Gate Tower to admire the beautiful scenery of the ancient city. From the East Gate Tower, you can experience the smoke of the Battle of Feishui, where a small force won. During the journey, you can visit Baoen Temple, Kuixing Tower, Confucius Temple, Mosque and other attractions, and truly experience the city's cultural allusions and the charm of the Chu and Han dynasties.
Recommended route and check-in points: South Gate of Shouxian Ancient City Wall - Mosque - Confucius Temple - Baoen Zen Temple - East Gate of the Ancient City Wall, etc. (You can choose to check in with the tour guide or explore on your own, leaving plenty of time for exploration)

2:00 PM

We'll reconvene at the designated location and drive to the Anhui Chu Culture Museum (registration is required in advance through the Anhui Chu Culture Museum's official account).
This museum embodies the essence of Shou County's 3,000 years of history and culture. A county museum boasts a collection that even surpasses some municipal-level museums—a truly remarkable treasure! Upon arrival, we'll be led by a professional guide. After visiting the museum, exploring the various sites of the ancient city will provide a deeper understanding and appreciation.

3:30 PM

We gathered again and boarded the bus for the return trip, returning to Nanjing with full of memories. The group disbanded happily. Remember to check in and post beautiful pictures on the "tourists circle". See you next time.

Driving time: about 3 hours

Shou County, formerly known as Shouchun and Shouzhou, is located in central Anhui Province, on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Huai River, in the shadow of Bagong Mountain. Surrounding it are the Huai, Pi, and Ying Rivers, with the Feishui River flowing through the city. The ancients described Shouzhou's strategic location as follows: "At the crossroads of the Yangtze and Huai Rivers, if the southerners seize it, the Central Plains will lose its shield; if the northerners seize it, the south of the Yangtze River will lose its throat." This statement is not an exaggeration; Shou County truly holds the title of strategic location. The famous Battle of Feishui, where a smaller force triumphed over a larger force, took place here.
