Day 2 Wenzhou → Wencheng → Taishun

·morning

After enjoying the buffet breakfast, we will gather in the hotel lobby for departure.

--Baizhang Waterfall comes from the sky--

Around 10:00 AM, we arrived at the Baizhang Waterfall scenic area in Wencheng. "Waterfall" basically means shore, but it can also refer to a deep depression on the seabed. In this context, it clearly doesn't have either of these meanings. It turns out that in Wenzhou dialect, one of the most difficult dialects in China, "waterfall" specifically refers to waterfalls. Baizhang has three waterfalls, one of which is a hundred feet high. Let's go explore them.

Entering the canyon, the sound of rushing water emanated from nearby, growing louder the further we walked, like a tiger descending from a mountain or a dragon emerging from the sea. The wind blew, sending water droplets cascading down onto our faces, soaking us instantly. Especially at the Water Curtain Cave at Erji, I felt the urge to jog away, yet I also quite enjoyed the gentle drizzle.

At the end of the canyon is a waterfall with a drop of more than 200 meters. If you have heard the roar of Huangguoshu Waterfall and seen the rushing of Hukou Waterfall, this waterfall in front of you may make you feel the grandeur of a waterfall plunging three thousand feet.

Returning to the visitor center, we passed a lake called [Zhending Lake]. The water was clear, and the lake surface was a light blue in the midday sun. In the distance, there were towering mountains, and a fairy air was revealed in the hazy air. You guessed it right, this lake was the source of Baizhang Waterfall. As expected, the water came from the sky.

·afternoon

--Interesting stone village--

In the afternoon, we came to an interesting She ethnic group village [Kucun Ancient Village]. It is a stone village with a thousand-year history. It is like entering a world of pebbles, a castle built of pebbles.

In addition to appreciating the millennia-old farming and reading culture, many other interesting things have emerged here: A Plow Carrying Books, the Farming and Reading House, Jimi Bridgehead, and Three Cups of Tea. You can also try Grandma's Cakes, "One Goose, Five Ways to Eat," browse the Miaoa Tea House, and dance the bamboo pole dance with the She ethnic group girls...

--She Village Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience--

Free experience (you can choose one for free): She clothing change travel photo shooting (1 hour), She embroidery experience (making sachets)

--Hot spring resort in the mountains--

At the right time, go to [Taishun Langqiao Radon Spring Tourist Resort] and stay at the hot spring resort hotel.

For dinner, you can try local farm dishes. Recommended delicacies include: rice noodles, nine-layer cake, loach soup, duck gizzard and sweet potato flour, pancakes (po cakes), smoked cured rabbit, Shiyang meatballs, and meat soup.

In the evening, you can also go to the hot springs (at your own expense) to relieve the fatigue of the day.

Day 3 Taishun → Sixi Corridor Bridge → Cangnan

·morning

I got up early in the mountains, where everything was green and the air was exceptionally fresh. I slowly enjoyed the hotel's buffet breakfast.

--A song of dreaming over the covered bridge, my hometown is deep in the covered bridge--

Taishun, known as the "Hometown of Chinese Covered Bridges," boasts a UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding, and its traditional construction techniques for wooden arch bridges have become a top tourist attraction in Taishun.

Around 10:00, we set off for the [Sixi Covered Bridge Cultural Park] to visit the Sixi sister bridges - Beijian Bridge and Xidong Bridge, which are known as the "most beautiful covered bridges in the world".

Beijian Bridge, built in the 13th year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign in the Qing Dynasty, is the younger of the two bridges. Constructed entirely of wood, with no piers, it spans the Beixi River. Its imposing structure, adorned with red tiles and carved beams and painted rafters, is imposing. Ancient trees shade the bridge, and beneath it lies the confluence of two rivers. The bridge, ancient trees, stone slabs, and clear water complement each other, creating a beautiful waterscape.

We have lunch here at our leisure.

·afternoon

--Return to the Middle Ages, Alum Hill, Ford Bay--

In the afternoon, we'll travel to Fudewan Village in Cangnan County. Born and flourished from alum mining, the village boasts a basic layout of mining, residential, and alum refining areas, stretching from the mountainside to the foothills. The village boasts a unique blend of industrial and traditional village landscapes. Although the alum mine ceased production in the early 1990s, the traces of the industrial era remain a hallmark of Fudewan Village.

Stepping onto the bluestone old street of Fudewan, you'll see various traditional houses, ancient alum kilns, workers' auditoriums, Soviet-style office buildings, and old miners' houses... It feels like you're in the medieval animation world created by Hayao Miyazaki.

--Exploring the Secret Alum Mine--

Don a hard hat, climb aboard a mine cart, and enter Cave 312, transformed into a miner! Here, you'll find numerous alum mine relics and a massive shovel! The temperature here remains around 18°C year-round, acting like a natural air conditioner.

--Fanshan Meat-Duckling--

When you come here, you must try a bowl of the intangible cultural heritage delicacy [Fanshan Meat-Bearing Bird's Nest] (free tasting). Fanshan Meat-Bearing Bird's Nest requires high-quality ingredients, and the pork must be the lean meat from the hind leg. The bird's nest skin is made with the lean meat after it is beaten and mixed with lotus root and taro flour in an appropriate proportion, so that the bird's nest skin is sufficiently tough. (Groups of 10 or more: meat-bearing bird's nest making experience will be arranged)

--Crossing the mountains and reaching the seaside--

After a satisfying meal, we headed to the Yuliao Beach Scenic Area for check-in.

In the evening, stroll through the fishing village and go to enjoy seafood.

Today is a day of relaxation. You can also sleep in naturally and enjoy the hotel's buffet breakfast.

Head to Yuliao Beach for a visit, where you can run, stroll, swim (subject to availability and in designated areas), collect shells, catch crabs, surf on a jet ski, and sunbathe.

Experience the fisherman's life with this fishing trip (9 people per boat, approximately 150 yuan per person, advance registration required). The harvested seafood will be taken to the restaurant for lunch, fresh from the sea to your table.

·afternoon

After lunch, the trip ends and we return to Wenzhou by bus.

Disbanding place: Wenzhou South Railway Station (estimated arrival time: 16:00, it is recommended to book a high-speed rail ticket after 16:30)

Baizhang Waterfall is technically three waterfalls, or alternatively, a three-fold waterfall, divided into the first, second, and third cascades. Located atop a mountain with an altitude ranging from 300 to 638 meters, the ravine stretches 1,200 meters long, is approximately 3 kilometers deep, and has a drop of 353 meters, covering a total area of 2.95 square kilometers. The upstream reaches of the waterfalls collect rainwater over 200 square kilometers, forming a torrent that rushes down a 100-zhang-deep ravine, forming a stepped waterfall system with the first cascade reaching 100 meters high, the second cascade 100 meters deep, and the third cascade 100 meters wide. Baizhang First Cascade is China's tallest single waterfall, at 207 meters high and over 30 meters wide.

Taishun, the Hometown of Chinese Covered Bridges, is a traditional wooden arch bridge construction technique based on the inheritors' understanding of the environment and structural mechanics. Using raw wood, traditional wood construction tools and handcrafts, and employing core techniques such as braided beams, these bridges are connected with mortise and tenon joints to create a remarkably stable arch bridge. Braided beam wooden arch bridges are the most technologically advanced form of traditional Chinese wooden bridges. In 2009, this technique was inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding. Taishun boasts remarkably well-preserved wooden arch bridges from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, known as living fossils of ancient wooden bridges.

Yuliao Beach: Yuliao Beach, a crescent-shaped beach measuring 2,000 meters long and 800 meters wide, is the largest beach on the continental shelf of my country's southeastern coast. It can accommodate 10,000 people simultaneously, making it an ideal bathing spot, beach, and marine sports venue. Yuliao Beach is a provincial-level scenic spot (AAA-rated tourist area) offering a combination of summer retreat, vacation, leisure, and entertainment, earning it the nickname "Hawaii of the East."
