Dongling Mountain is located in the northwest of Mentougou, west of Beijing, 122 kilometers from the capital. At 2,303 meters above sea level, it is Beijing's highest peak and is known as the "Roof of Beijing." Due to its altitude, Lingshan, within a 25-square-kilometer radius, has become a unique natural scenic spot in Beijing, combining the dramatic peaks of fault and fold mountains with a boundless array of flowers. The area boasts a unique natural landscape, with unpredictable summer weather and shrouded mountains in mist. It boasts a mix of warm temperate and Siberian vegetation, including forests of rhododendrons, lilacs, and birch, as well as plants like hazelnuts, goldenrod, and roses. The area is particularly renowned for its alpine meadows, providing a natural breeding ground for Xinjiang fine-wool sheep, Ili horses, and Tibetan yaks in Beijing.
