Day 2 Qiandao Lake Hotel → Muxin Valley → Secret Forest → Kayaking → Qiandao Lake Hotel

All day

Depending on the weather, if you are an early riser, you can watch the sunrise by yourself.

We slept in in the morning and gathered around 9:00 to head to Muxin Valley.

At around 9:30, we arrived at the hiking starting point near Lilian Village. We first walked up a gentle slope and a mechanized farming section to do a morning slow warm-up, and then entered the secret forest of Muxin Valley.

This is East China's most atmospheric "S"-rated hiking route, worthy of Zhejiang's "Ailao Mountain." Towering pines and cypresses reach the clouds, gurgling streams and fallen leaves blanket the ground, and wildflowers and fragrant mushrooms occasionally appear along the roadside. This pristine forest will wash away all inner worries, leaving only immersive relaxation. Everyone laughs and walks together, slowly experiencing the reality of "The Wizard of Oz." (There are many forks in the road and mosquitoes are common, so please walk slowly.)

Around 12:30 PM, we walked out of the forest and arrived at the shore of Qiandao Lake. We strolled along the lakeside and then boarded the bus back to the hotel. It was time to treat ourselves to lunch.

Around 3:00 PM, we'll gather at Happy Water World for our fun kayaking adventure. After receiving our kayaking gear and receiving instruction from our team leader, we'll practice balancing and turning in shallow water before embarking on our kayaking adventure. Floating freely across the vast expanse of water, we'll explore uncharted waters and isolated islands, and experience the charm of Thousand Island Lake.

We disembarked at the right time and headed to the beer town and the viewing point near the Thousand Islands Lighthouse. It happened to be the sunset by the lake, and we were treated to a beautiful sunset.

In the evening, you can dine together or find food on your own. After dinner, you can take a leisurely stroll along the lake or go to Qilong Lane to experience the local night market. Tomorrow, you can walk into the Red Valley!

Hiking: 9km of hiking, with a total ascent of approximately 320m.

Notes: 1. The hike is not strenuous and the road is in good condition, though some sections have steep slopes.
2. This pristine forest is prone to insects, so be sure to bring mosquito and insect repellent.

Day 3 Qiandao Lake Hotel → Red Valley → Baipuxi River → Xiajiang Village → Shanghai

All day

Depending on the weather, if you are an early riser, you can watch the sunrise on your own. You can also go to the Dongguawu Vegetable Market to experience the bustling local morning market.

Around 7:30 in the morning, we got up, had breakfast at the hotel, and then gathered to set off.

Around 8:30 AM, we arrived at Red Valley. We climbed up in search of waterfalls: Hanging Bell Waterfall, Pipa Waterfall, Pearl Pond, and Fishtail Pond. Along the way, streams and waterfalls accompanied us, springs gurgled, and the forests were cool and refreshing, like stepping into a fairytale forest. The treacherous ladders built by hikers in the past have become relics, making the trail less wild but much safer.

Around 11:00 AM, we gathered for Daxiajiang Village, the filming location for "My Hometown and I—The Last Lesson." We first enjoyed a hearty lunch, then strolled through the village. It evokes the image of our hometown in our hearts: the sounds of chickens and dogs echoing through the rural alleys, smoke curling in the breeze. We strolled through the ancient village, taking photos, and playing in the stream.

Around 13:30, we got on the bus, said goodbye to Qiandao Lake, and gathered to return to Shanghai.

We arrived in Shanghai around 20:00. Everyone was reluctant to leave and kissed goodbye with tears in their eyes!

Driving time: Xiajiang Village to Shanghai, about 6 hours.

Hiking: Leisure hiking in the scenic area

Muxin Valley, located on the Pailing Peninsula in the scenic central area of Qiandao Lake, covers 2,500 mu (approximately 1,000 acres) and is part of the Qiandao Lake Town Central Urban Tourism and Resort Area. It represents another undeveloped forest landscape within the Qiandao Lake 5A Scenic Area. Home to over 300 plant species, Muxin Valley boasts one of the largest single artificial metasequoia forests in Hangzhou and even the province. The air within Muxin Valley is so rich in negative oxygen ions that it's been dubbed a "natural lung cleanser."
