Day 1 Shanghai → Dayu Valley → Shanghai

07:15

Meet at the designated location of China-TravelNote (latecomers will not be accepted!)

The bus departs promptly at 7:30 AM. The journey is quite long, so the tour leader will introduce himself and explain the itinerary, creating a lively atmosphere and allowing everyone to recharge their batteries for the upcoming hike.

11:00

We arrived at Ganling Reservoir around 10:00 AM. Our team leader distributed mountain cleaning equipment and, after a brief explanation of mountain cleaning precautions, we prepared to begin our day's mountain cleaning journey.
We then walked along a country road to the Ganling Lake Dam. Suddenly, a shimmering autumn landscape appeared before us. Red leaves reflected on the lakeside, and Niangniang Mountain towered in the distance! A good lunch was served along the way.

Led by our team leader, we entered a wide, soft firebreak and began our ascent. The firebreak, a soft dirt path through the pine forest, was particularly captivating. We ascended through elegant jungle and crisp bamboo forests, entering the red foliage area of Changle Forest Farm and reaching the summit of Niangniang Mountain, approximately 8 kilometers away.

The climb up the mountain is quite intense and requires a certain level of physical strength. If you feel unwell, do not force yourself to follow the leader's instructions to descend.

Friends who come down the mountain early in the afternoon can buy a cup of coffee at the entrance of the camp and sit on a chair to enjoy the beautiful afternoon.

4:30 PM

We returned to the boarding point, boarded our beloved bus, and ended our journey for the day.

7:30 PM

Everyone helped each other along the way, and when it was time to part, they were reluctant to leave and kissed each other goodbye with tears.

Driving time: 3 hours per trip

Hiking: about 8 kilometers, with a total ascent of about 400 meters

Note: After the activity, we will sort the results of the mountain cleaning into recyclable and non-recyclable categories and put them in their proper places.
While enjoying the healing that nature brings us, we can also heal nature through small actions.

Dayu Valley: A pristine haven in western Hangzhou. Numerous reservoirs and lakes, shimmering in the valley's emerald waters, add to the valley's beauty. Green mountains and clear waters, devoid of noise except for the chirping of birds, the buzzing of insects, and the crowing of roosters, offer no trace of pollution. The area boasts numerous historical and cultural sites, and the ancient folklore of Dayu's flood control deepens its significance. Niangniang Mountain, the main peak, rises 400 meters above sea level and resembles a miniature Mount Fuji.

Every autumn, as you pass through the verdant bamboo forest and enter the core area of Changle Forest Farm, you'll suddenly look up and see the intoxicating red leaves of Liquidambar formosana fluttering in the wind, golden ginkgo trees standing by the pond, and straight, germanium-red Metasequoia trees marking the long forest path. It's a breathtaking sight.

Changle Forest Farm boasts numerous tall camphor, torreya, maple, and fir trees. In autumn, they transform into vibrant reds, yellows, and greens. Because it's a forest farm, with few houses, the autumn breeze blankets the tree-lined paths with a thick blanket of fallen leaves. Walking through them creates a trance-like experience, reminiscent of a European town in a movie.
