Day 2 Kuala Lumpur City Tour

·morning

丨Itinerary presentation

Today, we'll begin with a visit to Kuala Lumpur's Sultan Abdul Samad Building (exterior) and Merdeka Square. Built in 1897, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building served as the government office during the British colonial era. Its iconic 40-meter clock tower is a landmark. Merdeka Square is located across from the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. On August 31, 1957, the Malaysian flag was first flown there, symbolizing independence from British rule. A 100-foot-tall flagpole now stands at the flag-raising site to commemorate this historic moment.

While historical remnants are lost in time, the spread of cultural beliefs relies on the people's legacy. We then proceeded to visit Kuala Lumpur's renowned mosque, the Jamek Mosque (if the area is closed, we'll only see the exterior). Built during the British colonial era, the Jamek Mosque is the oldest mosque in Kuala Lumpur.

We then headed to the Mariamman Hindu Temple, which is famous for its colorful reliefs and statues and is one of the most ornate Hindu temples in Malaysia.

丨Lunch Recommendation

For lunch, we recommend you go to the Michelin restaurant [Haijiaoren Seafood Noodles].

Their design draws inspiration from Islamic culture while incorporating innovative modern architectural concepts, showcasing Malaysia's youthful, modern, and balanced character.

Afterwards, we walked over the pedestrian bridge to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, a large shopping and entertainment center in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. It is famous for its high-end fashion, food, and urban leisure experiences. We can shop freely here.

Day 3 Kuala Lumpur → Malacca

·morning

丨Itinerary presentation

After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to the historic city of Malacca (approximately a 2-hour drive) to experience the city described in history books and encounter the small but beautiful Nanyang style.

Upon arriving in Malacca, we first visited the Stadthuys, a Dutch-style building dating back to the 17th century, making it the oldest surviving Dutch-style structure in Southeast Asia. It now houses the Malacca Museum of History, Culture, and Literature, housing Portuguese and Dutch memorabilia, exhibiting traditional Chinese and Malay wedding attire, and showcasing Malacca's history. The vibrant red walls and white windows, a vibrant blend of old and new, exude a colonial atmosphere. As we stroll along the Malacca River, we'll be captivated by the vibrant colors of Malacca.

We will then head to St. Paul's Church, located on St. Paul's Hill, about a 10-minute walk away. Built in 1521 by the Portuguese, the church's architectural style blends Gothic and Renaissance elements, with its red brick walls and white stone columns creating a striking contrast. Its bell tower, a prominent feature, dates back to the 16th century. Standing on the hilltop's observation deck, tourists can overlook the entire Strait of Malacca, making it a prime spot for photography.

Next, tourists will visit the Fort Santiago, also known as A'Famosa, a Portuguese-style structure from the early 16th century. Beyond the gate and the faintly discernible remains of the walls, scattered stone tablets dot the grounds, echoing the quaint Portuguese designs on the gate and serving as a testament to the vicissitudes of history.

You can have lunch on your own at noon. We recommend you try the local Nyonya cuisine to give your taste buds a trip to Southeast Asia.

About Malacca

Malacca, a historic city in Malaysia, lies on the eastern shore of the Strait of Malacca. It is renowned for its rich historical heritage and diverse culture. Once the capital of the Malacca Kingdom, it later became a colony of the Portuguese, Dutch, and British, leaving behind a rich legacy of European-style architecture and cultural heritage. Malacca's historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

About Nyonya

Nyonya is a term unique to the Malacca region, referring to the mixed-race descendants of Chinese immigrants from the Ming and Qing dynasties who came to Malacca, Indonesia and Singapore from the early 15th century and intermarried with local indigenous people. Boys are called Babas and girls are called Nyonya.

·afternoon

After lunch, we'll visit the Peranakan Museum, owned by the Zeng family in 1861. Comprising three terraced houses, the museum housed four generations of the family until its conversion into a museum in March 1985. Here, you'll journey back to 19th- and early 20th-century Malaya. Stroll through Mr. Zeng Qingxiu's residence and experience the multicultural and affluent lifestyle of that era. The building's intricate decoration and design showcase the fashion and multiculturalism of pre-World War II.

We'll then have some free time at Jonker Street, a vibrant hub of local life. This historic street, a UNESCO World Heritage site at the heart of Malacca City, has been a popular cultural destination since its establishment in 2000. It's packed with a variety of Malay snacks, like chicken rice balls, nasi lemak, laksa, and more. We'll disband here, allowing tourists to explore the local cuisine on their own.

Finally, we'll embark on a Malacca boat tour, giving you the opportunity to see a different side of the city from the river. As the boat slowly sails out of the pier, you'll weave between the riverbanks, absorbing the tranquility and beauty of Malacca. Along the way, you'll see the old Dutch Stadthuys, the ruins of St. Paul's Church, and the colorful traditional Malacca architecture.

Afterwards we will check into the hotel in Malacca.
