Yangzhou: A Treasure City | Amidst the bustling Guangling City, Yangzhou is my only love

Day 1 Suzhou → Yangzhou → Suzhou

07:00

07:00-07:10, gather and sign in at the yellow China-TravelNote flag at the intersection of Jintang Street and Zongguantang Road (near Exit 6 of Pinghe Road Station on Metro Line 2. Cars can park at Yaosheng Building, capped at 20 yuan/day).

We set off on time. On the bus, the tour leader will arrange for everyone to introduce themselves, play interactive games, and have fun laughing along the way!

10:00

Yangzhou's Guanyin Mountain is the site of a Sui Dynasty maze tower, once the imperial palace of Emperor Yang of Sui. After the Song Dynasty, temples were built throughout the dynasties, earning it the title of "First Sacred Mountain." Compared to other Yangzhou attractions, it's virtually deserted. The modest Guanyin Temple, with its tiered yellow walls and lush greenery, is filled with the gentle rustle of the wind, the chirping of birds, and the occasional friendly smile from a monk who passes by... Here, one feels a sense of peace not felt in a long time.

11:30

Arrive at Dongguan Street; have lunch at your leisure in the ancient street.

After millennia of development, Dongguan Street is rich in historical relics and cultural heritage. It's the best-preserved ancient commercial street in the cities along China's Grand Canal. Stretching from the ancient canal in the east to Guoqing Road in the west, it embodies the history and folk culture of the Ming and Qing dynasties and has been named one of China's Top Ten Historical and Cultural Streets. Everything you want to know about vibrant Yangzhou is here, so feel free to explore its delights.

Recommended self-guided tours: Siwang Pavilion, located near Yangzhou's Slender West Lake, is a historic building steeped in history. Once a gathering place for ancient scholars, it is now a must-see for tourists and a great place for photo ops. Pi Shi Street, an ancient street in Yangzhou, earned its name from its former location as a fur market. Today, Pi Shi Street has evolved into a vibrant alleyway filled with artistic flair. Its unique architecture and abundance of cafes, bookstores, and snack bars make it a must-see for arty young people.

2:30 PM

Arrive at the China Grand Canal Museum. Born from the canal, prospered because of the canal, and flourished because of the canal. At the China Grand Canal Museum, experience the canal's past and present. Thousands of ships sail through Yangzhou. Twelve historical and cultural halls plus a canal escape room showcase the canal's history and culture through technological and aesthetic means. Various internet-famous attractions have made this museum incredibly popular since its opening, making it a top-tier museum in Yangzhou and a rare sight nationwide. (Please make a reservation on the WeChat official account: China Grand Canal Museum before registering for the event.)

Yangzhou is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River in central Jiangsu Province and the southern end of the Jianghuai Plain. It is the intersection of the Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. In addition to the popular poems such as "Fireworks in Yangzhou in March" and "A Ten-Year Dream of Yangzhou", the highlights and noise in history and the low-key and quiet in reality always make people sigh.
