7:10-7:30 Meet and sign in at Exit 3B of Jiazhou Road Station on Metro Line 3 (look for staff holding yellow China-TravelNote flags) and proceed to our treasured town destination, Peng'an;
7:30-11:30 On the bus: [Ice-breaking Action] [Interactive Games] The 3-hour bus ride will eliminate boredom and encourage everyone to get to know each other and overcome any sense of unfamiliarity.
Arrive in Peng'an around 11:30
11:30-18:00 Arrive at Zhouzi Ancient Town
Discover Peng'an's authentic delicacies: square-shaped pot cakes, Heshu tofu, rice jelly, ancient town mahua (fried dough twist), dried tofu, and camphor duck...
The ancient town has a thousand-year-old wharf culture and many ancient architectural ruins. Experience the grand occasion of Zhou Dunyi, the founder of Neo-Confucianism in the Song Dynasty, giving lectures at the Lianxi Temple. From the observation deck, appreciate the inspiration of Wu Daozi, the Tang Dynasty painter, who painted the Jialing River panorama. Or, take a leisurely hike up Longjiao Mountain to see the scenery of the small town nestled between the mountains and the water.
Take a leisurely stroll through Sima Xiangru Ancient City, where the story of Sima Xiangru, a great poet and composer, took place. The ancient city mainly consists of the Temple of Literature, the Temple of Martial Arts, the Temple of the City God, the Yuhuan Academy, the Dragon God Shrine, the Catholic Church, and Xiangru's former residence.
At 18:00, we will gather at the Bainiu Crossing the River scenic area to watch the magical spectacle of hundreds of cattle crossing the Jialing River under the leadership of the head cattle.
Gather around 19:00 and
return to Chongqing around 23:30
