Day 2 Haikou → Qilou Old Street → Yanding Village → Eman Volcanic Coast → Yangpu

All day

After breakfast, we'll head to Haikou's Qilou Old Street. This is a memory of Haikou's former prosperity. Most of the arcades were built in the early 20th century by returning overseas Chinese, drawing inspiration from the architectural styles of Southeast Asia. Many are adorned with elegant and detailed sculptures and Western-style decorations, lending them a distinct Baroque feel. Strolling and taking photos through the alleyways, we'll witness the passage of time here, centuries in the making, while life continues with an elegant and satisfying charm.

We then departed for Yanding Village in Danzhou. The ancient salt fields of Yanding, dating back over 1,200 years, are among my country's earliest solar-dried salt production sites. Over 7,300 rocks dot the ancient salt fields, each forming a salt pan. These rocks were formed from volcanic lava. The salt pans consist of numerous inkstone-shaped salt troughs, each with its own unique shape, dotting the beach.

In the afternoon, we'll travel to Danzhou's Eman Volcanic Coast. This coastline, formed by the accumulation of volcanic material following a volcanic eruption one million years ago, stretches four kilometers from north to south, reaching a peak of 39 meters. The Eman Volcanic Coast features a diverse array of eruptions and lava flows into the sea, including volcanic stratigraphic sections, lava flow tectonic remains, and paleontological remains. Explore numerous pristine beaches, including a sunset view at Sail Rock.

Day 3 Yangpu → Baimajing Fishing Port → Qizi Bay

All day

After breakfast, we'll head to Yangpu Baimajing Fishing Port. Baimajing is one of Hainan's renowned fishing ports. Local custom in Baimajing is that men undertake the high-risk sea fishing, while women handle shore-based work. This makes it a fishing port dominated by fisherwomen. In the early morning, the port is bustling with people. Women in conical hats, armed with flashlights and shoulder poles, carry boatloads of seafood from newly docked fishing boats to the dock, where they buy, sell, and pack the catch. Witness the vibrant and lively work of the local fishermen.

We then headed to Qizi Bay in Changjiang. Qizi Bay, a coastal spot in Changjiang Li Autonomous County, Hainan, boasts both gentle sandy beaches and craggy reefs, including uniquely shaped chess stones. Dajiao, known as the "Romantic Cape," boasts crystal-clear waters, soft sand, and a connection to the rocky beach. A stroll along the coastline offers a truly captivating experience, with ever-changing scenery.

In the afternoon, head to the steep cliffs of Qizi Bay. The rocky beach here is as magnificent as a "seaside stone forest," with wild cacti growing tenaciously in the cracks. Visit the famous landmarks, such as the territorial base point stone monument and the "Couple Rock," and wait for a stunning west coast sunset.

This lighthouse is a symbol of both Yulingzhou and Dongfang City, serving as a crucial navigational aid in the Beibu Gulf. Eighteen massive windmills tower over the Yulingzhou beach.

We will then visit the Yinggehai Salt Field in Ledong. This salt field is one of China's three largest and the largest in southern China. With its vast salt pans and well-organized channels, the silvery-white salt sea, reflected in the sunlight, resembles a "mirror in the sky," creating a spectacular sight. Other sights include ancient salt warehouses and old trains, imbued with historical charm.

Nestled between mountains and water, Sun Moon Bay is a crescent-shaped bay, surrounded by mountains to the north and bordering the South China Sea to the south. Its sandy beaches are white, soft, and the waters are azure and clear. Huge rocks and surging waves create a surfing paradise renowned both domestically and internationally.

Located in Dong'ao Town, Wanning City, the Shenzhou Peninsula is bordered by Niubiaoling Mountain to the east, the Haochao South China Sea to the south, Laoyehai Harbor to the west, and Dong'ao Harbor to the north. The lighthouse here not only serves as a watchtower for the harbor but has also become a popular online destination for countless tourists due to its refreshing aesthetic. Against the backdrop of the azure sea, the red and white lighthouse is particularly striking. Wait for a sunset at the lighthouse by the sea.

Glistening in the sunlight, they create a dazzling array of blue, red, green, and yellow, a dazzling spectacle that is truly captivating. On the other side of the mountain lies a sheltered bay, its soft sandy beach whispering to the gentle waves. Rows of small fishing boats bob along the shore. The two beaches, separated by a single mountain, are completely different, and one cannot help but marvel at the wonders of nature.

We then proceeded to Gangbei Port, a port in Wanning City known as the "Mother Port" by the people of Wanning. Over half of Wanning's seafood comes from Gangbei Port, known locally as "Little Sea." Gangbei Little Sea is China's largest inland lagoon, covering nearly 50 square kilometers. Its abundant seafood has earned it the nickname "Land of Fish and Rice." During fishing season, Gangbei Port is a bustling scene. Fishermen, fisherwomen, fishmongers, and fishmongers gather at the docks, heading out to sea at sunset and returning to port in the morning glow.

In the afternoon, we'll head to Neizhi Island. Neizhi Island, named for its location between two opposing islands, Gangbei and Gangwai, is located at the mouth of Gangbei Harbor in Wanning City, Hainan Province. The black reefs are a distinctive feature that distinguishes Shanqin Bay from other coastlines. Large and small reefs are scattered along the coastline, creating a myriad of shapes and forms. Swallow Cave, a narrow cave extending from the highlands of Shanqin Bay toward the sea, is named after the large number of swallows migrating south from the north to nest and overwinter here in late autumn. From within the cave, the sea and sky merge into one, with the sea and reefs creating a beautiful frame.

Visit Boao's "Sea Story" at the right time. This food street, nestled right next to the ocean, is filled with old fishing boats, planks, nets, and kerosene lamps, transformed into themed restaurants, bars, and cafes—perfect for photo opportunities.

In the afternoon, we'll head to Red Stone Beach. At the mouth of the Wanquan River in Boao, a cluster of reefs juts out from the beach. Because the rocks are mostly pink, they're known as "Red Stone Beach." These red reefs, spread over a range of about five to six hundred meters, are mostly long and narrow, rising evenly from the sea. Clusters and individual rocks stand tall against the silvery waves, weathering the daily tidal surges and the ravages of wind, sun, and rain, adorning the beautiful coastline. On the beach, there's a charmingly artistic Anywhere Door, with sand inside and the sea outside. Next to it is a stone embankment leading to the depths of the sea, similar to the one in "Goblin," which slowly submerges at high tide.

Then we will go to the Milk Sea in Qionghai. The beach of this sea area is covered with white coral rocks. When the sea breeze blows, waves of white waves appear. The clear water is light milky white, so it is called "Milk Sea" by the locals.

We then headed to the Wenchang East Suburbs Coconut Grove. Located on the coast of Dongjiao Town, Wenchang City, the East Suburbs Coconut Grove boasts a vast array of coconut trees in a variety of shapes and sizes, earning it the nickname "Wenchang has half as many coconut trees as Hainan, and the East Suburbs Coconut Grove is the most picturesque." Entering the forest, you'll see a vibrant mix of large and small, tall and short, straight and curved, forming a vibrant forest.

In the afternoon, we'll head to Wenchang Stone Park. Located near the Tongguling Nature Reserve, Stone Park is an untouched, pristine natural wonder. Its allure lies in the interplay between stone and sea. A myriad of rocks, shaped like turtles, monkey heads, and even hand-polished, are scattered across the ocean. These neatly arranged rocks are a masterpiece of nature's uncanny craftsmanship, the product of a fusion of waves and boulders. At high tide, waves surge into the rock caves, creating a melodious thunderous roar, crashing against the shore with a shower of spray. At low tide, the boulders stand majestically on the beach, displaying their impressive presence to the sea. Within the park, a monolith rises like a castle from the beach. From atop the boulder, you can overlook Stone Park and admire the stunning scenery of Tongguling.

Recommended Wenchang delicacies: Wenchang chicken, Longquan steamed chicken, pan-fried Dongge anchovy, Dongge sandworms, Jinshan beef jerky, coconut milk chicken, etc.
