The Southern Silk Road is an ancient international passage in ancient southwestern China that runs through Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, connects Myanmar and India, and leads to Southeast Asia, West Asia and European countries. It, along with the Northwestern Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road, is the main channel for ancient China's foreign transportation, trade and cultural exchange.
