11:00
We arrived at the starting point of the hike ➡ Dongqian Lake Little California, and the rows of palm trees were our rallying call to start our hike!
We started to climb up the mountain, climbing up the dirt road all the way. It is like the green lung of the city at ordinary times, but it becomes more muddy and slippery after the rain. The narrow goat road winds up the mountain, accompanied by bamboo forests and shrubs.
When we reached the top of the mountain, the view suddenly opened up. The town of Itomori with its double crater lakes from Makoto Shinkai's classic anime "Your Name" appeared before us. We took photos and checked in. The blue lake and the sailboat harbor, a cartoon-like scene came into view. There were also planes passing overhead, and the roar of the planes intertwined with the sound of wind and leaves in the mountains, which was extremely dreamy.
Go down the mountain, and you will reach Hanling Old Street at the foot of the mountain, where you can start shopping and eating!
Hidden ways to play: ① Drive slowly along the shore of Dongqian Lake to reach Hanling Old Street, which is about 3km of flat road. There is no lakeside section if you climb the mountain; ② Do not get off the bus, follow the bus to the Hanling Old Street parking lot, get off and visit the old street directly.
Important Notice: Due to the extreme heat of summer, we will no longer be hiking the semi-circular mountain trail in August and early September, depending on weather conditions. Instead, we will be hiking back and forth to the scenic viewpoint and along the lakeside trail, approximately 5 km in total, with a 200m elevation gain, primarily on dirt roads. Hidden Gems will still be available and will not be affected.
2:30 PM
Arriving near Hanling Old Street, known as "Eastern Zhejiang's No. 1 Ancient Street," Hanling Old Street isn't wide, but it winds like a secluded path for over 600 meters. The old-fashioned shop fronts stretch out in a row, hinting at its former prosperity. Two mountain streams flow through the village, telling the story of its ancient history. We strolled along the old street's bluestone pavement, savoring delicious food amidst the stunning scenery of lakes and mountains: water tower cakes, lye balls, roasted taro, steamed Peng fish, stir-fried snails, and Qianhu River shrimp...
Or you can go to the shore of Dongqian Lake and check in the red lighthouse, which is full of atmosphere. You can also walk slowly to check in the Hanling Art Museum, an architectural work by Kengo Kuma. It is very photogenic. You can take some photos and daydream here. The bus is waiting for us not far away.
You can only check out the building and the lakeside of Hanling Art Museum. The interior is not under construction and is not open to the public.
4:30 PM
Gather and depart, return to Shanghai.
8:00 PM
Back to Shanghai, where we started, everyone was still reluctant to leave and said goodbye with tears in their eyes!!!
