On the Road: 09:00-11:30
08:45-09:00 Please meet at the designated location of China-TravelNote. Don't be late. We will depart on time at 09:00!!!
Around 09:00-11:00, the tour leader began to explain the itinerary on the road. The team members introduced themselves to each other and the tour leader led everyone to interact, and there was laughter and joy all the way.
11:00
[Food Exploration, Chang'an Town: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM]
We've arrived at Chang'an Town. You can pick any noodle shop in Chang'an, and they're all delicious. Feel free to choose your favorite! (Chang'an Town is an ancient town where local residents live, not a traditional commercial town. Some of the streets have been demolished. This trip focuses on exploring noodle shops. Those not interested in noodle shops can visit the nearby Juehuang Temple.)
13:00
Stroll along the Qiantang River: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Depart for Baili Qiantang (approximately 40 minutes). This area was once a section of the old Shanghai-Hangzhou Highway. Ancient trees, primarily maple, Chinese holly, and camphor trees, stand on both sides, creating a unique local landscape. You can go to the embankment to watch the sea, and on a good day, you can even catch the Qiantang River's crosstide. We took a light hike along this greenway (not a strenuous hike, so be careful if you're not sure. Shared bikes are available, so you can scan and ride for a unique experience). (During the hot weather, we chose the green section.)
3:30 PM
Ancient Street, South Gate: 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Depart for [Nanguanxiang] (approximately 40 minutes by car). Nanguanxiang is the only remaining of the seven pass-throughs in Haining. This is a wonderful ancient street. The blocks run north-south, and the houses on both sides of the street basically retain the appearance of the Jiangnan water village during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Not only does it have the art of Xishi lanterns, but there are also handicraft workshops, studios, coffee shops, etc. It is very exciting to walk along the way (Xu Zhimo's former residence is also nearby to visit).
Around 18:30, we finished our tour of Nanguanxiang and headed back home immediately! (The return trip is shorter and we don't stop at any service areas.)
Around 20:30, we arrived in Shanghai and said goodbye with tears ~ ending a wonderful day!
