Treasure Town Zhenjiang | From "Flooding Jinshan" to "A Thousand Years at a Glance"

Day 1 Nanjing → Zhenjiang → Nanjing

08:15

08:15-08:30 Gather at Exit 1 of Andemen Station, Metro Line 1

10:00

Arrive at Xijindu at 10:00 AM. Built during the Six Dynasties period, the winding blue brick plank road and the layered eaves of the buildings are photogenic. Climb up to the Yuntai Pavilion for a bird's-eye view of Xijindu Ancient Street, then enjoy some free time to stroll and eat (try the pot-covered noodles).
Besides the main street of Xijindu, other recommended areas for free time include:
Zhenjiang Museum: Located right next to Xijindu, the museum features the "Bronze Artifacts of Wu Culture" exhibition showcasing bronze artifacts from the Jiangnan Wu Kingdom, as well as exhibitions of ceramics, gold and silver artifacts, and more – all worth a visit!
Gyeonggi-ro: From Zhang Weifeng Cake and Dessert Shop to Niu Chef's Shaobing (Fried Buns), Dabao Clay Pot, and 87 Eryu (Encounter), this street-style streetscape blends with the artistic atmosphere, making it a great place for a leisurely stroll, a meal, and a rest. The other side of the road is lined with buildings and scenery from the Republican era.

1:30 PM

Arriving at Jinshan Temple, it's not only a Zhenjiang landmark, but the candlelight before the Buddha, the reflection in the lake, and the chiming of the eaves bells all inspire awe and tenderness.
The flooded Jinshan Temple, depicted in the story of White Snake, is undoubtedly well-known. Let's follow the iconic camera angles from the film "The Legend of White Snake" to capture the scene (see the camera angles posted by our tour leader). The entire temple is magnificent, and a trail leads to a panoramic view of the entire temple.

4:00 PM

End of the tour and return to Nanjing

5:30 PM

Return to the starting point and disband happily.

Driving time: about 1.5 hours
