Ma'anshan: A Treasure Town | Explore the Railway City and Discover National Treasures

Day 1 Nanjing → Ma'anshan → Nanjing

07:45

07:45-08:00 We will meet at Exit 1 of Ande Station, Metro Line 1

09:30

Arriving at Aoshan Geocultural Park, this area was once a 180-meter mountaintop. After 105 years of mining, the ecological environment was completely destroyed. Construction of an ecological park began in 2018. Now, it's a deep mining lake, its azure waters like a sapphire embedded in the valley. It's known as the "Little Kamakura Seaside Train Station," a popular check-in spot!

10:30

Arriving at Yushan Lake, it is very comfortable to walk along the lakeside, giving everyone enough free time to stroll here and explore the nearby Ma'anshan food bars. You can also walk around the nearby Qi Street and Nanhu Park. Ma'anshan Third Railway Coffee is also about 1km away. If you are interested, you can check in on your own, but please pay attention to the meeting time.

12:00

Museum time begins, arriving at the Zhu Ran Family Cemetery Museum. Zhu Ran was a renowned general during the Three Kingdoms period. His tomb is both the highest-ranking and oldest of the Wu tombs excavated to date. This little-known museum boasts four artifacts totaling 195 pieces, while the Nanjing Museum boasts only three! It's truly a treasure trove, though the originals are on display like a blind box; you won't know until you arrive.

13:00

Depart for the Lingjiatan Ruins Museum. Dating back 5800-5200 years, the Lingjiatan Ruins are considered one of the "three great prehistoric jade cultural centers," along with Hongshan and Liangzhu. Each jade artifact unearthed here holds the secret code to the origins of Chinese civilization. (To celebrate the opening of the Lingjiatan Ruins Museum on May 16th, exquisite artifacts from Lingjiatan, now part of the Palace Museum's collection, will be returned to the museum for the first time in 40 years.)

4:30 PM

End of the tour and return by bus.

6:30 PM

Return to Nanjing departure point and disband happily.

Driving time: 2 hours

Ma'anshan, Anhui, is a low-key treasure town with mountains, rivers, forests, and retro literature. It is a place where Li Bai visited seven times.
