12:00

We came to a local farmer's house and had a meal first, which was authentic local food.

13:00

Arriving at Shitan Ancient Village, we transferred to a small bus to our accommodation. Along the way, the scent of chrysanthemums filled the air, and golden and white Huizhou chrysanthemums bloomed in the mountains, creating a perfect filming location.
Passing by several observation decks, the white-walled, black-tiled Huizhou-style village houses nestled amidst the vibrant autumn colors of the forests was a breathtaking sight.

After arranging your accommodation, you're free to explore the surrounding area, play some games, or simply relax.
In the evening, you'll reach the Xiatai Observation Deck, where a group photo is a must. From this vantage point, you'll see the distant mountains and ancient villages, and the Changyuan River flowing eastward. You can also wait for the sunset here.

6:00 PM

After dinner, it's time for some fun. Those who can't sleep can gaze up at the stars and chat.
After or before dinner, enjoy a special "roasted sweet potato" or "roasted potato" experience. Freshly harvested sweet potatoes, grilled over a charcoal fire, are a delicacy only found in the mountains. Experience authentic rural life in southern Anhui with us and share the joy of a good harvest with the locals.

Driving time: about 4 hours

Note: The hike from Shitan Ancient Village to Xiatai Village is a wonderful 3-hour hike that is not very strenuous and passes by wonderful viewing platforms along the way.

2nd Tianxiatai → Foot of the Mountain → Yangchan Tulou → Nanjing

07:00

Students who are diligent in the morning can go to the observation deck to take pictures of the sunrise. If you are lucky, you can experience the glorious sunrise and the magnificent sea of clouds over Shitan.

08:00

After breakfast, we set out in a timely manner to go down the mountain and head to the Yangchan Tulou. The Tulou is surrounded by mountains. More than 400 years ago, people from Zhengzhou, Henan moved here during the war.

11:00

Today, Xin'an Tulou boasts over 300 buildings, each row upon row, each showcasing a diverse range of styles, a rational layout, and a well-organized, staggered layout. These buildings embody the harmonious harmony of man and nature, imbued with the rich architectural characteristics of southern Anhui's mountainous regions, creating a magical, quaint, magnificent, and beautiful landscape. In the golden autumn, drying crops in the sun becomes a vibrant part of the landscape. This practice is a symbol of local custom. Dozens of ancient Hui-style dwellings are scattered across the valleys, where the drop reaches hundreds of meters. Each home features windows for natural light and stands for drying produce. Villagers use their windows as canvases, their stands as brushes, and their drying boards as palettes. In spring, they dry bamboo shoots and ferns; in autumn, they dry red peppers, rice, and soybeans. This creates a series of masterpieces of folk culture, a continuous and orderly procession year-round, brimming with the joy of a bountiful harvest.

13:00

We arranged an AA dinner, then strolled around the ancient village, met up with the bus and returned.

5:00 PM

Arriving at the departure point in Nanjing, everyone was reluctant to leave and kissed goodbye with tears in their eyes!!!

Driving time: about 4 hours

Hiking: about 4 km, about 1 hour

Note: The glorious sunset and sunrise in Shitan, the magnificent sea of clouds, the picturesque landscape of Changyuan River, the ancient roads, and the pristine, hidden and spectacular earthen buildings will surely take our breath away.

Shitan, nestled among the remnants of the Baiji Mountains, boasts dozens of quaint Huizhou-style villages nestled amidst the rolling hills. Previously, access to the outside world was via a narrow, narrow path, with villagers relying on mules to bring in daily necessities, production materials, and construction materials. Now that the road has been repaired, it has become a renowned photography and flower-viewing destination in southern Anhui.

Yangchan Tulou: Yangchan boasts over 300 well-preserved tulou, a rare sight in China. Nestled amidst the mountains of Shendu Town, She County, Huangshan City, these buildings were settled over 400 years ago by people from Zhengzhou, Henan Province. Due to the high terrain and inconvenient transportation, for centuries, the inhabitants of the area adapted local materials, using bluestone from nearby areas to pave roads and bridges, and red soil and wood to build nests and dwellings. They worked from sunrise to sunset, drinking mountain springs when thirsty and eating grains when hungry, ensuring the survival of their descendants. Over time, these tulou complexes, forming a magnificent, rustic, and beautiful cluster, have been formed. The villagers are all surnamed Zheng, descendants of Zheng Banzhou's Zainenggong. Row after row, these tulou, with their diverse shapes and well-planned layouts, embody the harmonious harmony of man and nature, embodying the rich architectural characteristics of southern Anhui's mountainous regions, creating a magical, quaint, magnificent, and beautiful scene.
