Day 1 Various locations → → Jiamusi ★ Gathering day

All day

Today is the all-day gathering day in Jiamusi. Please check in at your designated hotel using "China-TravelNote+Name." Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, also known as Jia City, the First City of the East, and the Little Yan'an of the Northeast, is the primary settlement of the Hezhe ethnic group in my country. It faces Khabarovsk and the Jewish Autonomous Oblast of Russia across the Heilongjiang River to the north and the Ussuri River to the east, respectively. Its streets and alleys are filled with exotic charm.

丨Transportation Guide

Jiamusi City has Dongjiao International Airport (JMU), which is only about 10km away from the city center. The airport bus costs 10 yuan and the taxi costs 20-30 yuan, so transportation is convenient.

Currently, there are direct flights to Jiamusi from cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, and Dalian;

Other cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Chengdu can choose to take stopover or connecting flights to Jiamusi. The overall travel time is not long. Tourists can flexibly choose the appropriate flight to gather according to their own circumstances.

Day 2 Jiamusi → Dulu River Wetland → Longjiang Viewing Platform → → Jiayin County

All day

After breakfast, we'll depart for the Dulu River Wetland. This low-lying area, dotted with ponds and reeds, is one of the three major waterfowl habitats in northern my country and a key migratory area for migratory birds. Every year from late September to early October, during the bird migration season, you'll have the opportunity to capture stunning images of flocks of red-crowned cranes, white-headed cranes, and black and white swans taking off from the water with a telephoto lens.

After the photoshoot, we departed for the vibrant autumn colors of the Longjiang Three Gorges. We ascended the observation deck and gazed out over the Heilongjiang River, where the vibrant colors of the forest foliage contrasted beautifully with the tranquility of the river.

Drive to Jiayin County in the evening and check in. You can make an appointment with your friends to taste the local river fish specialties to recharge your energy for the rest of your journey.

Driving distance: about 380km

Note: Note 1: Xinglong Gorge is closed for plank road maintenance. Today, you will be offered a visit to the Longjiang Observation Tower to enjoy a bird's-eye view of the autumn scenery of the Longjiang Three Gorges. The summit fee will be covered by China-TravelNote. The tower is currently scheduled to remain open until the National Day holiday. If the tower is closed due to fire safety measures, the summit visit will be cancelled. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Day 3 Jiayin County → Sunrise by the River → Huangyuwozi Village → Maolangou → Tangwang River

All day

Depart for the Heilongjiang River before dawn, scrambling to capture the magnificent sunrise over the river. The morning light paints the river's surface a molten gold, while the Russian mountains on the opposite bank form a tranquil silhouette. With a bit of luck, you might even catch a captivating sight of a thin mist shrouding the river!

Return to the hotel in time for breakfast, then head north, passing by the Huangyuwozi Village Observation Deck to capture the S-shaped Heilongjiang River and the vibrant autumn scenery of the forests.

In the afternoon, we headed to Maolangou National Forest Park, also known as the "Little Jiuzhaigou of the North," focusing on photographing the Black Dragon Pool Waterfall and the secluded pool, as well as the vibrant autumn scenery of the deep valley. The afternoon sidelight in the canyon perfectly outlined the texture of the steep peaks and cliffs.

After finishing the shooting, we drove along the river to Xunke County. If we came across haystacks, farms and sunset glow along the way, we could stop and capture the sunset.

Overnight in Sunke County.

Day 4: Tangwang River → Wuiling Songjiangyuan Wetland → Sanjianfang Forest Farm → Y001 Rural Road → Kulbin Reservoir → Sunke Platform

All day

After breakfast, we will drive deep into the heart of Lesser Khingan Mountains. First, we will pass by the Songjiangyuan Wetland in Wuyiling Mountain, where the mountains and waters of Wuyiling Mountain are intertwined in golden colors in late autumn.

Then pass through the Sanjianfang Forest Farm, travel through the birch and maple forests, and immerse yourself in the colorful autumn colors unique to Lesser Khingan Mountains.

We will then return along the famous Y001 Country Road Autumn Corridor, watching the colorful forest unfolding like a picture scroll outside the car window. We will stop flexibly to take pictures according to the actual road conditions.

Arrive at the Kulbin Reservoir in the afternoon to wait for the sunset and watch the winding shoreline of the reservoir intertwined with the layered autumn forests. Tourists with drones will be able to unlock the magnificent vastness and boundless autumn colors of the Lesser Khingan Mountains from an aerial perspective.

After the shooting, we went to check in at the Sunke Big Platform B&B.

Driving distance: about 170km

Notes: Note 1: Some sections of Y001 Country Road are bumpy and potholed, but the scenery is truly breathtaking. Please be mindful of safety during your visit.
Note 2: A shuttle bus is required to enter and exit the Xunke Grand Terrace B&B. The one-way journey is 2.5 km and takes approximately 15 minutes. Please cooperate with the staff.

Day 5: Xunke Grand Terrace → Tangwang River Forest and Rock Scenic Area → Tangwang River

All day

I got up early and went to a nearby village to photograph the sunrise. This is a very niche photography spot. The Kulbin River forms an "Ω" bend here. Morning mist appears from time to time, and the autumn colors along the coast are boundless, which is very photogenic.

In the afternoon, explore the Tangwang River Forest and Strange Stone Scenic Area for a spectacular photojournalistic journey. This scenic spot features a stunning combination of granite rock formations and pristine forest. We recommend ascending to the observation tower for a panoramic view: jagged rocks are submerged in a boundless sea of autumnal trees (a prime spot for aerial photography). Then, follow the forest trail deeper, capturing close-up shots of the moss-covered rock peaks, falling colorful leaves, and red pines.

After finishing the filming, we stayed at Tangwang River nearby.

Driving distance: about 100km

Day 6 Tangwang River → Shangganling Stream National Forest Park → Luxi Ranch → Yichun

All day

After breakfast, we'll depart for Shangganling National Forest Park for a photo tour. Home to over 1,000 plant species from the Lesser Khingan Mountains, it's known as the "Forest Ecological Museum." We'll capture the silhouette of Wuhua Mountain amidst the gurgling streams and deep valleys, amidst the falling leaves.

Visit Deer Creek Ranch at the right time and follow the deer to the birch forest or streamside. You can capture the dynamic moment of the deer's hooves crushing the fallen leaves at a low angle, or shoot the lively scene of the deer diving down the hillside to drink water at a wide angle.

After finishing the shooting, we drove to Yichun, the forest city, to stay and experience the quiet night of the forest city.

Driving distance: about 120km

Day 7 Yichun → Wudai Highway → Harbin ★ Disbandment Day

All day

Set off at the right time to reach the Wudai Highway before the tourist rush. Known as the "most beautiful forest road," this path transforms into a dreamy golden tunnel in the morning mist. Along the way, breathtaking autumn scenery comes into view, with distant mountains looming through the mist. Winding through the Lesser Khingan Mountains, the Wudai Highway feels like a road to the sky.

Arrived in Harbin in the afternoon, and was first transferred to the airport and then to Harbin West Railway Station to disband, ending our pleasant photography trip in Lesser Khingan Mountains.

Driving distance: about 350km
