Day 2 Libo → Funnel Forest → Maolan

Today's itinerary
After breakfast, we'll hike to the Maolan Primeval Forest. The lush vegetation, tall trees, and numerous vines create a tropical rainforest experience. The Maolan Forest hike offers five unique sights: tree hugging rocks, vine stranglers, chameleons, cool breeze caves, and the Funnel Forest Heaven and Earth Light. Tree hugging rocks and vine stranglers can be found throughout the forest, while chameleons require a keen eye and a bit of luck to spot. The Heaven and Earth Light is almost always visible on clear days, a natural wonder created by the combination of sunlight and the cool air of the cave. This hike will lead directly into the Maolan Scenic Area, where we'll stay overnight at the Maolan Inn.
Day 3 Maolan → Cave Hiking → Rongjiang

Today's itinerary
After breakfast, depart for a cave hike. Libo boasts not only the Big and Small Seven Caves but also the Maolan Karst Forest, a paradise for outdoorsmen and a favorite destination for British explorer Bear Grylls. Maolan's unique karst forest ecosystem is unique at its latitude worldwide. 144 families of seed plants, 144 species of bryophytes, 163 species of macrofungi, over 300 species of vertebrates, and over 170 rare plant and animal species have been identified within the area. Furthermore, the Maolan Karst Forest, as a scenic resource, transcends the stereotypical barren karst landscape, blending mountains, water, caves, forests, and lakes. The interplay of forest and hydrological landscapes creates a scene reminiscent of a fairyland on earth.
Today, we'll experience a cave hike and witness the wonders of light and shadow. Afterward, we'll travel to Rongjiang County, known as the "Village Super Holy Land." We'll spend the night in Rongjiang, where we can check out the Village Super Stadium and watch a game if it's on.
Day 4 Rongjiang → Zhaoxing Dong Village → Jilun Dong Village → Dengjiang Dong Village → Jitang Dong Village

Today's itinerary
After breakfast, we'll depart for Zhaoxing Dong Village, known as the "Hometown of Drum Tower Culture and Art" and one of the six best photography destinations. We'll transfer to a sightseeing bus and arrive at the village. After checking in at the inn and resting briefly, we'll begin our day's hike through the Dong villages. We'll ascend and descend the mountain, traverse the fields, pass through Dong villages, and explore the pristine, commercial-free Dong villages surrounding Zhaoxing. We'll immerse ourselves in the daily life of the Dong people, and before we know it, we'll be back in Zhaoxing.
Day 5 Zhaoxing Dong Village → Tang'an Dong Village → Xiage Dong Village → Congjiang

Today's itinerary
Departing early this morning, we'll take a connecting bus to the sunrise viewing point near Tang'an Dong Village. We'll await the sunrise (departure time is 1-1.5 hours before sunrise), watching the morning clouds dissipate and the sun rise over the mountains. After sunrise, we'll proceed to Xiage and Tang'an Dong Villages for a light hike through the terraced fields. The route is primarily smooth, with a primarily downhill slope, traversing the terraced fields and villages, where you'll be treated to both the pristine village culture and the breathtaking beauty of the terraced fields.
Arrive at Congjiang Station around 4:00 PM. It is recommended to buy tickets for trains after 5:00 PM.
