Day 1 Wuxi → Cixi → Wuxi

Meeting time: 07:00-07:15, Metro Line 1/2 - Sanyang Square Station, Exit 11A. Please wait for the bus. Please do not be late. (You can park at Yunfu Building with your own car. The fee is 4 yuan/hour starting from the 3rd hour.)

The team leader on the bus introduced the team members to each other, explained the itinerary and played interactive games, and they laughed and chatted all the way to their destination.

10:30

We headed to the "Kaoluo Mountain" hiking spot. This is a prime section of the National Fitness Trail, offering beautiful scenery, fresh air, and the gentle flow of a gurgling stream, creating a relaxing and enjoyable experience. After we passed the waterfall, the trail mostly continued along a gentle ridgeline dirt path, making it very beginner-friendly.

The total length of the hike is about 6km, with a total ascent of 400 meters and an altitude of 435 meters. It is very relaxing with mountains and water along the way.

After the hike, we headed to Minghe Ancient Town for lunch.

1:30 PM

At noon, enjoy a free lunch in Minghe Ancient Town. Minghe is a thousand-year-old town, rich in natural resources and blessed with outstanding people. We strolled through the town, basking in the sun and experiencing its tranquility and pristine nature. A major feature of the town is its abundance of street food. Look for the famous rice cake dumplings and rat candy balls; they are definitely worth a try.

3:00 PM

Arriving at the Shanglin Lake Celadon Cultural Heritage Park, we followed the museum's guides as they delved into the history of Yue Kiln celadon in Cixi. Yue Kiln celadon dates back to the Wei, Jin, and Southern and Northern Dynasties. Experts confirm that the Shanglin Lake Yue Kiln was the first "official kiln" in Chinese history, and the earliest mature celadon was successfully fired in its dragon kilns. Yue Kiln celadon is therefore known as the "mother porcelain." This is not only the birthplace of Chinese celadon culture but also the starting point of the "Maritime Ceramic Road." (Note: Tour times vary depending on shifts, so morning and afternoon schedules may vary. This will be determined by the tour leader and will be determined based on availability.)

4:30 PM

Return in due time.

7:00 PM

Returning to the starting point in Wuxi City, we were reluctant to leave and made an appointment to see each other again.

Driving time: about 2.5 hours

Hiking: about 6 kilometers, cumulative climbing about 400 meters, about 2-3 hours

Taoluo Mountain: also known as Xianju Mountain, with an altitude of 424 meters, there are many strange peaks and rocks on the mountain, shady trees, and roaring waterfalls in the stream. Legend has it that the name of this place is related to the romantic affair of Tang Bohu: "The words written on the pipa turn into resentment, and the money measured by Taoluo cannot buy spring." Loach stone, clam stone, chessboard stone, and divine workmanship, every mountain and water, every stone and tree, are full of spiritual energy and are a masterpiece of nature.

Minghe Ancient Town: Located in the southern part of Guanhaiwei Town, Cixi City, at the foot of Wulei Mountain, on the shores of Duhu Lake and Baiyang Lake, this ancient town, once a major saltworks in eastern Zhejiang during the Tang and Song dynasties, boasts a history of over 1,200 years. Streets are built along the mountain, the town is formed by the river, and a temple stands beside the town, where fishermen and farmers live by the river. "The cry of cranes in Jiugao is heard throughout the fields," the town boasts. High-walled courtyards, winding alleys, quadrangle courtyards, horse-drawn towers, gabled slopes, green-tiled roofs, and horse-head walls create a mottled, leisurely, and quaint atmosphere. Wandering in Minghe Ancient Town reveals the traces of time.
