6-Day Pilgrimage to Amnye Machen | One of the Four Sacred Mountains of Tibetan Buddhism, the Source of the Yellow River

Day 1: Across the Country - Maqin (Assembly Day)

Today, teammates from all over the country will gather in Maqin and check into the hotel arranged by our club. If you have more time, you can check in first and then explore the surrounding area on your own. Minimize exercise and rest as much as possible that day. A pre-departure meeting will be held in the evening to explain the important points of this event.

Day 2 Maqin → Trekking starting point → Damu Qiaoni Camp

Departing from Maqin this morning, we'll admire the crisscrossing loess landscape along the way. After a two-hour drive, we'll reach the starting point. After a quick refresh, we'll begin our hike. Here, every stretch of grassland is a painting, every glance a landscape, every step a story. The majestic and beautiful mountains and rivers, the scenery straight out of a legend, will be camped today at Damu Qiaonihe.

Driving time: about 2 hours

Hiking: about 11 km, 5-6 hours, climbing about 500 meters

Day 3 Damuqioni Camp → Damuqioni Pass → Muwaduwa Camp

After breakfast, we will set off. Today we will hike to the highest point of this trip, Damu Qiaonihe Pass, which is 4630km above sea level. After that, we will go downhill through the grassland. On the right is the Amnye Machen Peak No. 2, which is 6268km above sea level. Tonight we will camp at Muwadowa.

Hiking: about 11 km, 5-6 hours, climbing about 180 meters, descending about 130 meters

Day 4 Muwaduwa Camp → Gerige Camp

After breakfast today we started to leave the camp. Compared with the previous two days, the hike today was a little more difficult. The hiking distance today was the longest day of this trip, with a hike of 15km. On the way we could see the main peak of Animachen, which was 6282km above sea level. We camped at Rige Camp tonight.

Hiking: about 15 km, 7-8 hours of hiking, descending about 350 meters

Day 5: Gerige Camp → Gerige Temple → Maqin

After breakfast, we leave the camp and hike 8 kilometers along the road. Along the way, we will see one sea of ​​flowers after another appearing in front of us. Then we will reach the end of our trip, then take a bus to visit the Gerji Temple, and finally take a bus back to Maqin.

Driving time: about 3 hours

Hiking: About 8 km, about 4-5 hours, climbing about 110 meters, descending about 540 meters

Day 6 Maqin Group Disbanded (Disbandment Day)
