Day 2 Lishui → Painting Village → Xiangong Lake → Yunhe County
Day 3 Yunhe County → Yunhe Rice Terraces → Jingning
08:30
Depart for Yunhe Terraces Scenic Area
09:00
Arrive at the Yunhe Rice Terraces Visitor Center. You can first check in at the photo exhibition at the visitor center, which displays stunning photos of the terraces in different seasons and at different times, as a warm-up for the next on-site tour.
09:30
[Nine-bend Cloud Ring] — Aesthetic perspective of the golden terraces
At this time, the sun shines obliquely on the terraced fields, and the rice ears are shining with golden light, with a full sense of layering!
Starting from the tourist service point, walk along the "Agricultural Viewing Trail" (a total of 1.2 kilometers, easy and stress-free), passing the "Sunrise Viewing Platform" and "Dieyun Viewing Platform" along the way.
Standing on the edge of the field in a light-colored long skirt, let your companion take a bird's-eye view of the scene, which can romantically blend the "thousand layers of rice waves" with the characters.
If you are tired, you can take a break at the "Inosuke Coffee Bar" next to the trail, order a "Terrace Latte" (the cup wall has a terrace pattern printed on it), and sit on the outdoor terrace to drink while enjoying the scenery.
11:30
Kenggen Village: The 800-year-old village's vibrant atmosphere
This is an ancient village where the ancestors of the She ethnic group lived. It is full of bluestone roads and rammed earth houses, without the hustle and bustle of commercialization.
First, find a farmhouse for lunch. Recommended must-try items: Yunhe Tofu Balls (chewy and flavorful, perfect with local chili sauce), Alpine Organic Fish Head (stewed with mountain spring water, so delicious it'll make your eyebrows drop), and Pumpkin Pancakes (sweet but not greasy).
After lunch, take a stroll along Kenggen Creek, where the water is crystal clear, with centuries-old trees and the Yinguan Bridge (the only way to mine silver back then) on the banks. A special check-in spot is the Yinkeng Ancient Well, where the water is warm in winter and cool in summer, and locals still use it to wash vegetables.
When doing laundry, you might as well scoop some with your hands and feel the warm time of the ancient village.
2:00 PM
Qixingdun: Thrill and romance above the clouds
The terraced fields beneath my feet transformed from "golden waves" into "miniature models," and the mountains in the distance were shrouded in mist, making it seem like I had entered a fairyland.
Arriving at Qixingdun (1,100 meters above sea level, the highest point of the scenic area), you will see endless terraced fields and a sea of clouds. The "all-glass viewing platform" next to it is also very photogenic. Standing on it, you feel like you are "floating" in the clouds. Remember to use a wide-angle lens to take full pictures.
Scenery! When you're tired of playing, go to "Cloud Cafe" for a rest. The floor-to-ceiling windows of this coffee shop face the terraced fields. Order a bowl of "Cloud and Mountain Tea Jelly" and sip it slowly while enjoying the sunshine and beautiful scenery. It's a relaxing experience.
4:30 PM
Silver Valley: A cool and secret place of waterfalls and bamboo forests
A 10-minute walk from Qixingdun leads to Baiyin Valley, the "back garden" of the terraced fields, where a 2,700-meter-long "Bamboo Forest Trail" is hidden. Walking down the trail, you will see dense bamboos on both sides, rustling in the wind.
The temperature is 5-6℃ lower than at the foot of the mountain, so it is very cool to walk.
After a 20-minute walk, you can hear the sound of rushing water - you have arrived at the "Wujian Waterfall"! The waterfall cascades down from a 30-meter-high cliff, and the splashing water hits your face, instantly dispelling your fatigue. There is a small pool below the waterfall.
The water is crystal clear and many children are playing in the water nearby, creating a great atmosphere.
Day 4 Jingning → Dongnong Village → Shanghai
All day
08:00 Depart for [Dongnong Village] to welcome guests and experience the She ethnic culture for the first time
When you reach the village entrance, the first thing that catches your eye is a thousand-year-old camphor tree that requires three people to hug. Its lush branches and leaves are like a giant umbrella, and its thick shade covers most of the village entrance. The bluestone slabs under the tree have been polished smooth and translucent by time, and they are shining with a warm luster.
A lively [village gate welcoming ceremony] is held under the shade of this ancient camphor tree, waiting for guests from afar.
The gate at the entrance of the village is very characteristic of the She ethnic group. Colorful ribbons and dried corn and pepper strings are hung on the door frame built of logs. The totem of Panhu, the ancestor of the She ethnic group, is carved on both sides of the lintel. The blue-gray tiles and the eaves are raised, revealing an ancient charm.
As soon as we arrived at the village gate, a girl from the She ethnic group, dressed in a gorgeous "Phoenix Costume", greeted us with a wine bowl and a smile: she wore a silver Phoenix crown on her head, with tassels hanging down to her shoulders, and her clothes were embroidered with a pattern of a Phoenix playing with a peony.
The silver ornaments on her body jingled.
As clear as spring water dripping on bluestone. According to the She ethnic group’s custom, first drink a bowl of sweet tea. The tea soup is served in a coarse pottery bowl, with a few pieces of tender green tea leaves floating in the water. It is sweet and mellow, with a hint of mountain and wild flavor.
The fragrance of tea means "When you enter the door, you are a friend, and the fragrance of tea makes the friendship stronger." The girls will also sing a welcoming song in She language. The singing is accompanied by the birdsong in the mountains and the rustling of the wind through the bamboo forest. Although you don't understand the songs,
The words can instantly relieve the fatigue of the journey and integrate into the warmth of the mountains.
soft.
Depart from Dongnong Village at 10:30 and drive for about 20 minutes to reach [Window of She Village] (Dajun Township).
As soon as the car entered the scenic area, we saw a clear stream running through the village. A quaint stone arch bridge was built on the stream, and the bridge was covered with green vines. The stream under the bridge was gurgling, and the bottom of the stream was covered with green vines.
At the entrance of the scenic area stands a huge blue stone with four large red characters "Window of She Village" engraved on it. It is surrounded by neatly trimmed green plants, and the green mountains in the distance are like
Dai, the gurgling water nearby, I was attracted by the beautiful scenery as soon as I got off the car. This is a concentrated display of She ethnic culture, with lively folk interactions and authentic She
The delicious food at home is just the right time to start the "shopping and eating mode".
By 12:00, my stomach was already rumbling, so I headed straight to the She ethnic minority restaurant in the scenic area.
The menu is full of authentic She cuisine, and you won’t miss anything even if you order with your eyes closed:
She ethnic group's black rice: The black and shiny glutinous rice has the fragrance of the blackberry leaves. Dip it in some sugar and it is soft, sticky and sweet.
Xiangong Lake Fish Head Hot Pot: Fresh lake fish is used and stewed until the broth is milky white. The fish meat is tender and has no fishy smell. It is eaten with tofu and is so delicious that it will make your eyebrows drop.
Pan-fried yellow glutinous rice cakes: a traditional staple food of the She ethnic group, crispy on the outside and glutinous on the inside, dipped in honey or pickles for a rich taste;
Shexiang Tofu: The tender tofu is cooked until soft and sprinkled with chopped green onions and dried shrimps. It has a rich bean aroma, warms the stomach and goes well with rice.
After tasting the delicious food, we drove back to Shanghai.
Arriving in Shanghai at around 8pm, we kissed goodbye with tears and looked forward to our next trip.
