Shanghai, French quarter, nice statuettes show Western influence

Walking around the city found these nice statuettes that reflect the Western culture here for me in Shanghai. There are a few buildings as well...I don't know somehow I expected more fragments, remains from the past. Of course there are luxury shopping centers packed with famous Western brands and fashion icons products but I don't feel they are really part of the Western culture.
The french style garden was really nice.
