This is the fourth largest desert in China. The sand dunes account for 71% of the area, and the main part is moving sand dunes. The magic box of time has created a unique landscape and landform. This is the Tengger Desert!
The scenery of the Tengger Desert is so beautiful to photograph and it is worth seeing twice. Every shot is a blockbuster full of desolation, loneliness and science fiction.
You can follow me and shoot like this:
1. Wear flowing clothes, and try to avoid using the same colors as the desert. Use sand dunes as the background, and use a medium focal length or above to take photos of people walking or running from behind.
2. When taking aerial photos, don’t take off too high, as the characters will appear too small to be found in the picture.
3. When shooting aerial landscapes, learn to look for the lines of the sand dunes to show the beauty of geometric lines.
4. Pay attention to the small animals in the desert, such as lizards, bugs, camels, birds, etc.
5. Make good use of the desert highway to take great photos whether you use a camera or an aerial camera, but be sure to pay attention to the road conditions and passing vehicles.
Travel Tips:
1. The best time is from April to September every year, and you can arrange a 1-2 day trip.
2. It is more convenient to fly to Yinchuan, and then drive to Tengger for about 1.5 hours.
3. Be in awe of the Tengger Desert. In Mongolian, "Tengger" means "sky", which describes this desert as "as high and vast as the sky." Be sure to find a professional group to travel with. If you are driving by yourself, do not drive off the asphalt road as it is easy to get stuck. When taking photos while hiking in the desert, be sure not to walk too far rashly and pay attention to the way back. When the wind is strong, don't get out of the car and always carry necessary food and water.
4. The Alxa Tengger Desert is a mature tourist route. There are many companies operating the classic route of crossing the five lakes. Remember to bargain when chartering a car. There is accommodation near Moon Lake and Swan Lake in the desert.
