🌟 🌿 Anji · Huzhou
🌿 Why Anji?
Anji in Huzhou, known as China’s "Bamboo Town," is the filming location for the bamboo forest scenes in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and is the "back garden" of the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region. Here you’ll find endless bamboo seas, Japanese-style healing tea gardens, a cliffside library, and coffee shops hidden in the valleys... A natural oxygen bar just 2 hours away, perfect for those who want to relax, take photos, and breathe fresh air!
📸 Must-visit Attractions
1️⃣ China’s Great Bamboo Sea — The martial arts world from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"
 - Stroll through tens of thousands of acres of bamboo forest, climb the bamboo viewing tower to overlook the green waves, and experience the high-altitude glass plank road (not for those afraid of heights!).
 - 📍Tips: Wear white or light-colored clothes for magical photos in the bamboo forest!
2️⃣ Cloud Grassland — An adventure park in the clouds
 - Cliff swings, rainbow grass sledding, starry sky ski resort (winter), adrenaline rush guaranteed!
 - 🏡 Recommended stay: 1168 Starry Sky Astronomy Hotel, perfect for stargazing at night.
3️⃣ Jiangnan Tianchi — The "Little Mount Fuji" on the mountain
 - The winding mountain road drive is breathtaking, ski in winter, and camp and stargaze in summer.
4️⃣ Xiao Hang Keng — Anji’s "Little Switzerland"
 - Meadows, streams, herds of cattle and sheep, the top camping spot, perfect for shooting Nordic-style photos in minutes.
5️⃣ White Tea Viewing Platform — A leaf of tea drink
 - Popular floor-to-ceiling window tea house overlooking vast tea gardens, order a cup of Anji white tea and daydream.
🍜 Taste of Anji
Must-try list:
✔️ Anji free-range chicken soup (farm-raised, fresh broth and tender meat)
✔️ Braised dried bamboo shoots with pork (a spring must-eat, incredibly fresh)
✔️ Dry tossed noodles (local favorite breakfast, with stir-fried eel strips)
- Recommended restaurants: Lao Li’s Country Cuisine, Alujia · Taste of Anji Cuisine.
🚗 Transportation Guide
High-speed rail: Arrive at Huzhou Station/Anji Station, then transfer to a tourist shuttle or taxi.
Self-driving: About 2-3 hours from Hangzhou/Shanghai, scenic mountain roads but drive carefully.
Local transport: Attractions are scattered, self-driving or chartering a car (local driver-guide available) is recommended.
📅 Suggested Itinerary
Weekend 2 days 1 night highlights:
Day 1: China’s Great Bamboo Sea → White Tea Viewing Platform → Xiao Hang Keng camping/photo shooting → Stay at Cloud Grassland
Day 2: Cloud Grassland adventure activities → Jiangnan Tianchi mountain road → Return trip
3 days 2 nights deep experience: Add visits to Kato Tofu Shop (Japanese-style café) and Lingfeng Temple Zen meditation experience.
💡 Travel Tips
- Best seasons: Beautiful all year round (spring tea picking, summer cooling, autumn ginkgo viewing, winter skiing).
- Hidden experiences:
 - Watch the sunrise and sea of clouds at Dragon King Mountain at 4 a.m.
 - Stay in a bamboo forest guesthouse and fall asleep to the sound of rain on bamboo leaves.
- Avoid crowds: Weekends in peak season are busy, weekdays are recommended.
✨ The healing power of Anji is in the rustling bamboo sea, on the terrace scented with morning tea, and in every freedom-filled rush toward the mountains and wilds.
