Crouching in a hidden green world. This is the filming location for the Oscar-winning movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) by Ang Lee. This is the legendary bamboo forest where the iconic duel scene between Li Mu Bai and Yu Shu Lien was shot! This is Dazhuhai or Great Bamboo Sea in Anji, Huzhou.
Dazhuhai is a sprawling bamboo forest covering over 6.7 million square meters. It's a fantastic and peaceful site of an incredible scale and natural beauty. Coming here you feel immediately recharged with oxygen and negative ions. The air is super clean and fresh. Despite its breathtaking views and cultural importance, it is perhaps a less popular attraction in Huzhou, which makes it even more enjoyable as there are fewer crowds.
ACTIVITIES INSIDE:
The main highlight is climbing to the viewing platform from which you are rewarded with 360° panoramic views of endless bamboo-covered hills.
Other activities inside include walking across a glass suspension bridge with the sea of bamboo below or taking the slide down the mountain.
There are also many stalls selling a variety of local bamboo-based products.
