Xaysomboun (Lao: ໄຊສົມບູນ) is one of the 17 provinces of Laos, established on 31 December 2013 in the central part of the country. It is bordered clockwise from the north by Xieng Khouang Province, Bolikhamxay Province, Vientiane Province and Luang Prabang Province. It covers an area of ​​approximately 8,500 square kilometers. Most of the area is mountainous, resulting in a cool climate all year round. Travel from Vientiane Capital by Highway No. 13 South through Bolikhamxay Province. The province has a population of over 102,041,000 people (2018), divided by ethnic groups as follows: Hmong 55.71%, Lao Lowland 25.97% and Khmu 18.32%, divided into 7,800 families, of which 3,600 are still in poverty. Anouong is the capital of Xaysomboun Province.
