Looking east along Wenfeng Avenue in Anyang, you can see a unique ancient pagoda that is larger at the top than at the bottom. This is Wenfeng Pagoda, located in the northwest corner of the ancient city of Anyang. It is 38.65 meters high and has a circumference of 40 meters. The pagoda was built in Tianning Temple and was originally named Tianning Temple Pagoda. It is also known as Wenfeng Pagoda because it is located northeast of the former Zhangde Prefecture Confucius Temple and is a symbol of the local "literary style".
1. Wenfeng Pagoda was built in the second year of the Guangshun era of the Later Zhou Dynasty during the Five Dynasties period and has a history of over a thousand years.
2. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit.
3. Wenfeng Pagoda has five floors and eight sides and is 38.65 meters high. There are platforms on the five levels of the stupa and arch doors below. There are small round windows around each floor.
4. It has a unique style and is larger at the top than at the bottom. Each floor is larger than the one below, gradually becoming more spacious. It is umbrella-shaped, and this form of platform, lotus seat, Liao-style pagoda body, and Tibetan-style pagoda is rare in the world.
5. Admission: Free.
6. There is a parking lot on the east side of Tianning Temple. Nearby are Anyang Drum Tower and Cangxiang Street Commercial District.
