Arona: My Day Trip Escape from Milan! 🇮🇹🚶‍♀️

#summervacay
I just took a train from Milan Centrale (a mere €6.60 one way) and discovered Arona—a small town that feels worlds away from Milan's hustle. It gave me this fantastic sense of escaping the noise. Even though Arona has its share of visitors, it somehow still feels incredibly free, relaxed, and peaceful.

My "Leg-Powered" Arona Itinerary:

Arona is quite small, so it's perfect for exploring entirely on foot and makes for an easy day trip.

Arrival & Lakeside Stroll: Right outside the train station, I immediately spotted a Ferris wheel. I just walked towards it, and in about 5 minutes, I was at the lake. Then, I followed the lakeside path for about 10 minutes until I reached its end.

Hike to Parco della Rocca Borromea: From there, I headed towards the direction of what looked like a path leading uphill (similar to your photo 7), aiming for Parco della Rocca Borromea. I highly recommend going here—the views are absolutely stunning! It's about a 10 to 20-minute walk, but it is uphill, so definitely wear comfy shoes. When I went, the usual mountain path entrance was temporarily closed, so I had to walk along the main road (watch out for cars!).

Explore the Old Town: Coming back down the same way I went up, I found myself right in Arona's charming old town.

It was a truly delightful day of walking and soaking in the tranquil atmosphere.
