Daikanbo Peak, a Famous Destination in the Aso Region of Kumamoto Prefecture
Just a stone's throw from there, the Ogiya Observatory is only open on weekends, holidays, and clear days.
Because it is privately owned by the food truck chain "Aso Bo-go," it's only open to the public when the truck is open, making it a mecca for riders visiting Aso.
The highlight is the "Snake Road," a spectacular scenic spot that runs through the valley.
From here, you can see the winding road, resembling a dragon or snake ascending to the heavens, and it's been called the second Laputa Road.
You can't see this from Daikanbo Peak.
By the way, from the observation deck, you can see Daikanbo Peak, the Five Peaks of Aso, and Aso City.
Admission is free!
Enjoy specialty hot dogs, Takanasen, and coffee brewed with Aso spring water at the food truck.
📍Location: Near Daikanbo, Ogura, Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture
💰Free admission, free parking
🗓️Hours: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, open weekends, holidays, and sunny days only. Closed during the winter from November to March.
